Hi guys - firstly I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and wishes and comfort during a really difficult time.
The update on this situation is that the second opinion agreed with the first - Candy was decided unfit to travel and it would've placed too much stress on her, so I followed my intuition and decided to have her put to sleep. It was a very painful decision, but I think the best one for her. She passed peacefully on 17th December at around 3pm UK time. The good news is, in the moring when I woke and was in that place between sleep and awake I felt her jump up my chest as was her usual habit and lick my face lovingly to wake me up, I had to picnh myself as the feeling was so real I opened my eyes and looked around expecting to see her there. I felt relieved and joyful through this experience. I've had such a trying time, but now feel relieved and not happy, but comfortable that I made the right decisions, that she is at peace and have been able to happily remember the many good times she has given us, the cute things she did and the things that made her who she was - such a joyful little Cancerian dog! (Strange that Cancer the dis-ease, took her)
Thank you again my dear knowflake friends for your love during this time.

RIP Candy; 22nd June 1997 - 17th December 2007 Watching over me from the other side now

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
