A few years ago, the vet said we should put Beth down, but my mom refused. She wasn't eating and had kidney failure. She completely recovered and lived several more happy years (over age 100 in human years), but she stopped eating again and wouldn't drink water, so we knew it was almost time. She had a very happy life, even though she was blind and couldn't get around very well, and we are thankful for the extra years. Beth loves getting a bath, so my mom gave her one, and she was so excited...and then she barked a goodbye and layed down her head on her front paws in the tub and closed her eyes to sleep. She stopped breathing when her eyes closed. My mom had a funeral and buried her with her favorite blanket and her ball. I know she now has perfect eyesight and is running with her ball and laying on her blanket at the Rainbow Bridge.

It's quiet and lonely over there now.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.

I'm glad she was able to experience a few more years and to die peacefully.

I'm sorry Randall. I'm so happy your mother had more time with her furbaby but saying goodbye is always so hard.

It's like saying goodbye to a part of you, that's how I felt when my cat dusty left this plane now I have a dog and we found a kitten about a year ago and they both sleep together and just last month I took the dog to get shaved because of long hair and the cat did not recognize him and arched his back and hissed. They are back at being friends again. They simply love each other and the kitten looks a little like my other cat dusty. I love them both so I feel you pain Randall.
