I like cats, although allergic and I LOOOOOVE dogs but don't have one right now. I need to get some things together.

I do have an unusual one that I just sort of adopted from an ex years ago. I just hung on to it as it's really easy to care for, something different, and can be a conversation starter. LOL
MEXICAN RED KNEE TARANTULA

It molted as it does about once a year or so. Old skin is on the right. Notice it's right rear stumpy leg. lol

This is the old skin.

What's interesting is one day I came home and saw one of its' legs laying in there. One of its' back legs fell off for heck if I know why.
The next time it molted, a little stubby had grown under its' skin. The next molt, a little bigger and some hair on it. Eventually, it had regrown a full leg.

They're only truly dangerous if someone is allergic to stings.
Otherwise, they do have poison of course but it's not really dangerous. It'll just hurt like crazy.

It takes a lot for a tarantula to bite. They conserve their venom for prey. You can play with them like kittens. If you are too rough, they will often touch you with their fangs to give you a warning first. Very docile and friendly creatures. A bite is like a bee sting.

Ewe I don't want to be bitten by a tarantula, ever! scary. But one gets used to it if its a pet and it loses the scare factor.
Look at the hand in the third pic, it's you Zander? Isn't that a bite scar lol

Cool tanrantula, Zander!

Here is one of my favorite pictures of one of my macaws, Curry (& me). I have a pair of blue & gold macaws, Chile & Curry. Curry is the female.

We also have a chocolate lab (Clifford, the big brown dog), a chocolate Siamese (Isis), a Siamese Fighting fish (Major), and a Lionhead rabbit (Kingsley).

I think it's kind of coincidental I'm a Water Sign and ended up with a water dog. He was thrust upon me by an ex...I didn't pick him out. (Actually, the founding breed of the Labrador was the St. John's water dog.)

I sure wish more people would post pictures of their pets. *hint-hint*
