they never lose their spunk do they?

I'm almost on week two of dog-sitting this one (i have him for 4-5 weeks). And as old as he is, he's stiill got quite a bit of spunk in him! Especially when he see's a cat (which he hates - he was abused /ganged-up on by them in his earlier years apparently so he goes ballistic when he sees one

He's completely deaf, but all other senses seem to be fully functional. I call him my little girl dog's boyfriend, as he's a chi-pom mix and they are similar in size, look cute together and get along swimmingly ....for the most part.

There have only been a few brief scuffles between the two that i broke up and resolved quickly (he's a bit of a cranky old man and she is a high-strung young chi)

His owner is a neighbor/friend, a vietnam vet who is at a VA hospital for awhile. I might share some photos of the bumpkins together. We now sleep peacefully together every night after a mini dog fight in the bed on the first night. LOL Now everyone knows their place.

anyway, excuse my dog-loving ramblings. I'm glad they have each other - it's good for them both. Comfort for old man dog and a great learning/socialization experience for mine.

Wish we knew his Sun sign

I love elderly dogs.My lab is a little deaf and senile.
My chi riles her up when they go on a cat run. Partners in crime they are.

Yay and kudos to our senior citizen canines

Thunderbird was just diagnosed with cronic lung obstruction on top of his diabetes and tumor.
He will be 13 in Feb and the old boy still has his puppyness lurking.
We now have to physically load him in the jeep for a vet visit. Once inside, the Lab puppy takes over and he barks, wags and laughs in joy at all the new fresh four leggeds he gets to see on his journey.
Every day is a blessing and great joy to have him still with us.

Juni, it's so nice to hear that Thunderbird has such a loving supporting family and is able to live out his golden years in happiness, despite illnesses.

Their pure playful nature is something we can all learn from. They are the greatest examples of what it means to live in the present moment and staying in touch with the true nature that is at our cores.

Dee, so sweet
