Look at that! My mom gets alot of raccoons where she lives also. She even had a visit from a baby skunk that was looking for food on the front porch where she normally keeps the cat food lol.IP: Logged |

I know some people don't like them but I LOVE LOVE LOVE raccoons!!When I was a teenager, someone in the neighborhood had cut down a tree with a nest of babies in it. I managed to get one of them since all the neighborhood kids were trying to take them. Poor little baby raccoons. We lived in VERY small-town Texas, btw. I've been an animal lover since birth so I knew I could take care of one. My baby raccoon was the only one that survived. A blessing for my little coon but I felt bad for the other ones that kids took but didn't know how to care for. They required constant bottle feeding and formula. We kept him until he was almost an adult at which point he became too much of a handful for us. We found a raccoon sanctuary that had several "semi-domesticated" raccoons for him to go live on. He was so very clever, that raccoon! We just loved his time with us. He'd follow me everywhere like I was his mum. Mischievous, though, and with little human-like hands he could get into ANYTHING. One time a baby raccoon was found abandoned and hiding in the corner of our porch. It was the cutest little thing! We called the environmental agency which was happy to come pick it up. I'm glad because I didn't think we could keep it alive for very long without its mother. IP: Logged |

It's nice to see so many who love Raccoons. i think these 2 are living under my house. We took the skirting off to jack up the porch and never put it back,so i think they wintered over under my house. So i;ll leave it that way. There no problem.I love them there so cute IP: Logged |
