Dog owners are on alert after several reports of suspected dognappings in the Idaho Falls area. Luke Jones reports. IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Dog owners are on alert after several reports of suspected dognappings in the Idaho Falls area.Idaho Falls Crimestoppers has received four reports of possible dognappings, all of which occurred sometime on Easter Sunday. It makes me sad to think that somebody would do that, said dog owner Jessica Deets. The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office said a Yorkshire terrier was taken from a yard on 1st Street in Idaho Falls in broad daylight Sunday. "This person actually saw a female subject in a blue pickup enter her yard and take her dog, said Lt. James Foster, with the Sheriff's Office. That same day, a shih tzu disappeared from Esquire Acres Park. Foster said witnesses told the dog's owner, I saw a woman in a truck pick up your dog and take it. http://m.localnews8.com/news/4-dogs-suspected-dognapped-in-single-day/25667530

That's the reason I keep my twin cats inside the house, too many people with sticky fingers these days.IP: Logged |

I try to keep mine in but they usually get out. I live in the boonies and they usually cross the potato field that borders my house and goes next door to the neighbor on the other side who just happens to love cats and has many herself. Also i keep one of my garages open in case we're sleeping and they need to get inside My dogs i keep in because are to big to sneak out past me.except for the chi she's fast, but so far we catch her when she tries to get out IP: Logged |

Keeping them safe even in country side is a good idea, but it's somewhat better because you don't have to worry about random weird people wandering around like in the big city. There was an article recently in NYdailynews about a woman who went on a date with some guy from the internet. She brought him back to her apartment and she was in the bathroom for only a minute, when she came out she found the guy and her dog missing. He attempted to steal her yorkie IP: Logged |

Did she get the yorkie back? I know what its like with city weirdo's i grew up in queens NY and then moved to long island. There are plenty of fruit loops in the rural area's also but they usually hesitate stepping on private property due to the high volume of shotguns. IP: Logged |

Yes, he ended up finally returning the Yorkie back to her, she is very lucky to have him back home, other people can't say the same thing though sadly. You grew up in Queens? We live in Flushing right now, it's alright because we don't have to deal with as much of the fast pace environment as Manhattan. Eventually we plan to move upstate where its more quiet too. I'm happy about the yorkie,i hope she's more careful in the future..In my opinion its never a good idea to meet someone from the internet, especially for dating purposes.I grew up in Far Rockaway....one of my friends parents lived in Flushing its a nice area from what i remember.. Upstate NY sounds like a good idea..I used to go up there quits a bit. liberty, monticello and Roscoe.. many areas i didn't get to . I would love to getup to Lily Dale one of these days IP: Logged |

Agree with you, she should have been more cautious about bringing a stranger back to her apartment, especially from the internet. Where is the common sense in her, putting herself and dog in danger.I have only been once by train to Far Rockaway since I have been living in NYC, actually I need to explore more areas too. Visited Sleepy Hollow last year, it has some gorgeous scenery up there during Summer time, definitely want to return again sometime this season. IP: Logged |
