This video is going viral quickly but it's amazing! A dog attacked a young boy - unprovoked - and the family cat came to the rescue!! Sometimes cats get a bad rap.

When I was little, all the neighborhood dogs were scared of my cat.

These are all about the same cat:

We had some stray dogs in my neighborhood that I would feed. The larger one was picking on the smaller one, and my cat went after the large dog chasing him away. Taught him a lesson. He behaved after that.

A dog I didn't recognize started barking and chasing after my cat. She didn't run. Clawed the dog across the nose. End of story.

When my cat wanted to be let out, she would wake us up (me or one of my two brothers) by sucking on our ear lobes. Or if we were awake already, she would stand by the door and distinctly say "Out."

I used to dream often that she could speak (not just that one word). Kind of scary.

When all of the above happened, we lived across the street from our elementary school. We moved a few blocks away, and she left and never came back. My younger brother went to our former house after schol one afternoon and found her there. Around three weeks had passed. He carried her back home and was scratched all over his arms. She had turned completely wild. After we fed her, she stayed in the house till she became our cat again, but she still had that wild streak in her. I saw her jump in mid-air and catch a bird in flight! Crazy! I guess that's how she survived for three weeks, and I guess she preferred her food fresh.

We moved again to a place where we couldn't have pets, so my mom had to give her away. I felt helpless to do anything and had no say in the matter. I cried for days. After that, I was allergic to cats and still am today.

Perhaps you can get rid of the allergy by a shot or something?...
