Zoey, an 11-month-old brindle and white sweet pit bull mix had been abandoned with another pittie on September 1 and brought into Brooklyn's facility of New York City Animal Care and Control. Her release for adoption had been suspended for all of two days, pending an investigation into their former owners who obviously starved these dogs. No further information was ever made available for either of these two neglected dogs past lives.Zoey, aka Dustin, scanned positive for a microchip:
"Medical Behavior Evaluation GREEN
Medical Summary Scanned positive: 985112000262948 Intact female, approx 1 yr old Very thin/underweight Moderate tartar and gingivitis Applied activyl bar friendly and allowed handling
Weight 30.6"
We can only hope that Zoey finds a better home this time out. Her body weight is inexcusable, but she will be eligible for adoption on September 9. Perhaps you can be her angel? When inquiring about Zoey, please reference A1012550.

Zoey came into the shelter with Mary. Click here for information on this sweet dog, and notice her starved body condition is very similar to Zoey's. What kind of monsters lurk out there? When inquiring about Mary, please reference A1012551.
A Facebook thread to help Mary find a safe home can be found by clicking here. Volunteers and animal advocates are pledging donations for an approved rescue to help. Please continue to share their stories; these dogs really deserve a second chance at life.
