It almost seems as if surrendering senior dogs to busy shelters have become epidemic. Tragically, Roxy at 15-years-old isn't going to have a line at the door to adopt her; whether she has a year or more of a quality life she could have lived.Surrendered to Carson Animal Shelter on September 24, Roxy is heartbroken; she won't even look up from her kennel when a volunteer calls her name. Her description includes the following:
"My former family who owned me for more than five years had to give me up because they thought I had gotten too old. But they said that I spend most of my time outdoors, but it's not ideal. I do not show interest in small children. I have begun house training, but I still need some work. I seem to get along well with dogs."
