I would love to hear what people find wise and inspirational. Please share quotes or poems that you feel help you find that little something inside

I'll go first. One of my fav's is Prayer of St.Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I really think those words are something a lot of us forget these days.

Oh GREAT SPIRIT:

Whose voice I hear in the winds, and whose
breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I am a man before You, one of Your many
children - I am small and weak. I need your
strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty
and make my eyes ever behold the red and
purple sunset. Made my hands respect the
things You have made, my ears sharp to hear
Your voice. Make me wise, so that I may
know the things you have taught my people -
the lesson you have hidden in every leaf and
rock. I seek strength not to be superior to
my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest
enemy - myself.
Make me ever ready to
come to You with clean hands and straight
eyes, so when life fades as a fading sunset my
spirit may come to You without shame.

The Prayer of Serenity

"Lord, give me the strength to change the things I can change, the humility to leave alone those I cannot and the wisdom to know the difference between the two".

I have nothing to contribute...but I love all three of those.

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Antiphon for the Angels

Spirited light! on the edge
of the Presence your yearning
burns in the secret darkness,
O angels, insatiably
into God’s gaze.

Perversity
could not touch your beauty;
you are essential joy.
But your lost companion,
angel of the crooked
wings – he sought the summit,
shot down the depths of God
and plummeted past Adam –
that a mud – bound spirit might soar.
