Linda mentions the Essenes alot, in Love Signs particularly, as being the group of spiritual teachers Jesus trained with during the "lost years". Does anyone know anything about this or have any information/related sources concerning this matter? It has always intrested me!IP: Logged |

I do not believe Jesus/Yeshua (Yeshua ben Yosef) trained with the Essenes at any time and definitely not during the so called "lost years". John The Baptist and Jesus Bar Abbas did train with them however I believe.I do not agree with all of this but interesting food for thought. http://www.answers.com/Barabbas http://answering-christianity.com/which_jesus_released_and_which_crucified.htm I shall elaborate later when I have time to do so. I recommend some reading that is most interesting, in my experience, from which you may benefit. In the Rudolf Steiner Archive, there is a group of lectures on "The Fifth Gospel". Lecture IV is where you should find the topic on "Essenes", particularly. Fare thee well.

I can tell you that they are NOT gnosics since they believe in Ahriman and Jesus was not amongst during his lost years but in Parthia more exactly. As for those who visited him were all about Magus all 3 of them and NOT essenes. But I can still understand your need for a more esoteric faith. In many countries like Ireland and Russia there are a lot of interest toward alternative esoteric spirituality even though they despice the orthodox mainstream religion.Have a nice day! IP: Logged |
