Halo Artflakes

Came across this link to the Sistine Chapel
and a very cool interactive Webpage.

Being an Artist and studying the Masters
my whole Life,
This is truly a Spectacle to see....
Michelangelo's Opus Magnum
considering he was predominately known
as a Sculptor!

With his contemporaries...
Leonardo Da Vinci and Raphael
The World has been Gifted
with such reMinders as these
how the Human hand as well as our Minds
can craft Beauty, Poise and Grace...

Enjoy.

Salute!

an interactive chapel. How fascinating. Thanks for this. So I assume that this church is real, where is it located and could you elaborate on it's history please?

Halo SGH

Well come and your welcome!

Yes, the Sistine Chapel is real and located in the Vatican in Rome.

Below is a link to information you may be interested in:

The movie "The Agony and the Ecstasy"
with Charlton Heston is also a great film
portraying it's creation, as Michelangelo
is shown creating his Divine Masterpiece.

Do you think I should go there? I don't know if I could afford it.

Thank you Chahldean. It was marvelous. Felt like being there. I feel very good when i visit holi places. When my father had been in vatican he had taken many snaps which gave the same feeling.

This link is beautiful indeed. Had the satisfaction of walking through the place.

The art is exquisite. That was a golden era in Europe with a couple of geniuses around to give humanity an out of the world fine arts experience. I wonder what the astrological position was as they (geniuses) were born in the same period.

Halo SGH

Personally, I am not a fan of the Vatican per say.
As a Uranian, the Spectacle of such grandeur
twists my Mind
so that I do not see the Forest
through the Trees, so to speak.

HOWEVER.

As an artist and great lover of the Arts and Music
I would be doing my self a GREAT disservice
NOT to go, if I were of the means.....
Not many places on Earth
offer a glimpse of True Human Beauty
in Art, Architecture and Passion...
Designed and executed through Human hands
when people believed in more than themselves
and were humbled by the idea of a Greater Power.
One can sense this in many Mystical Places,
as you have indicated ABCD EFG...

I am glad you like the Link, if not for anything else
but to appreciate One of man's greatest Triumphants in Art.

I too wonder the Aspects and now have some homework to do!

This is a bit old, but if u didn't ...the answer to whether you should go to anywhere you heard of in Italy is YES!!!!

Also not only the Sistine Chapel, if you get to Rome, don't ever miss out on the Pantheon....an amazing marvel if only for the inner architecture but even more....you will walk in and feel something 'holy' just from the way the space was made, for lack of better words.

Also an important lesson Pantheon=All Gods, And the Romans did it so that anyone from anywhere can go and worship whomever they wanted there.....ironically it was the first 'christians' who were against this, and tried to destroy other people's 'gods' more than once....just something to think about, with how some people think it's their way or the highway today...
