1) I got rid of some that had zero responses, as I didn't want clutter and to me it said that there was no interest. It seemed pointless to just have them sit there.2) Some had a problem with the prayer thread because it was "limiting" or invasive. The reason that I asked for limitations (i.e., no political stuff, no conversion) is simply to avoid a big mess. I HAVE seen and heard prayers from people asking for people to convert to their ways, for certain political outcomes, and other things that are just not appropriate. I didn't want that on the thread: basically, as I had stated there, just wanted a place for people to pray for each other. The restrictions were basically "ugliness prevention", so to speak. Religion is such a delicate subject and so I, being a Libra, just wanted things to be kept as civil as possible. I've seen it elsewhere online and was simply trying to be cautious. I try to approach delicate subjects tactfully and that's the spirit that I wanted on the thread: civil, calm, non-extreme, just prayerful. This didn't go over well, even with the spirit in which I intended it, so I felt it better to simply get rid of it. Didn't want to cause trouble or anything. I really hate getting rid of threads, but felt like I should in these cases due to lack of interest and then simply not being a good thread in the case of the prayer thread. I don't know what exactly the precedent is for this, but I did try to give things a few days to pick up, and there were zero responses, so I figured that it was blah, not worth thinking about. In the other case, my concern was that a thread with good intentions was offensive. So, I don't want to make a habit of it, but that is the explanation. As I said, I really don't like to delete threads. I really have been trying to get more threads going here and to get people interested/thinking about spiritual things. I am fairly new to the whole mod thing, compared to others, so I'm just trying my best and I hope that I'm not failing you guys. I hope that I haven't disappointed you or done a bad job. I'm really starting to worry now that I have IP: Logged |

Don't be so hard on yourself. You are still finding your way and it's absolutely ok. We were all "new" here once upon a time.I saw the prayer thread and understand where you're coming from. Sometimes online communication can cause misunderstandings due to no voice, tone etc. I'm quite fond of you, Regardes.. you remind me of a member who used to be here.. anyhow, we all make mistakes and we learn. You are doing a great job and thank you. ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

RegardesPlatero,I actually really enjoy your threads on this forum specifically. You've posed some inquiry questions and honestly got me thinking as individual, which I always appreciate. I'm saddened that you did feel the need to delete a few threads, I'm noticing one that I commented on missing. It was nice to go back and read over others responses and I was actually planning to write more about the topic surrounding society defining people as not a certain religion or spirituality. I always find new things that I enjoy adding to threads, as further discussion points. I know spirituality and religion can be very sensitive topics, but I think the more we talk about them the better we'll be as people and the more we'll know and understand. As far as I've seen, you've done a good job of being a mod here on this forum. Don't worry so much about what others think or say. Continue to be true to yourself. Again, I personally really enjoy your threads, I would not have commented if I didn't. People will be people, you can't control how they react or respond. Even if people don't comment on a thread that doesn't mean their not reading it. If we don't put information out into the world, things won't change, nothing will get heard. You're doing a good thing by bringing up these incisive topics. Don't ever second guess yourself. If you think people have crossed the line, speak up and let them know. Let me know if I've offended you or anyone else. Live and let live darling! IP: Logged |

As a Mod, you really shouldn't delete strings. Misunderstandings happen and the best way is to work through them if the parties are sincere. If there are no replies on a topic, they should remain for when others may see them in the future and reply. All of your topics were great. I read them and make a mental note to respond later, as do others. You have really helped to grow this Forum, and you are doing a great job. Don't be so hard on yourself. I love the vibe this Forum has now, and you are a big part of that. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I would like to see more strings by you, not fewer. And if people don't respond right away, that's okay. We have almost 70,000 members, so we have plenty of people just reading.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." This is the most sensitive forum at Lindaland and I give you respect in taking the job of Mod and doing it well! I am the one who spoke up about limiting religous expression to what one believes is the correct form of Prayer. Diversity isn`t always a Libra experience (Saturn in Libra here)so keeping the scales balanced and allowing personal expression is critical. Keeping an eye on the thread and moderating is good medicine rather than fussing before an event happens. My Granny called this "borrowing trouble" A quick look around the forum introduces one to the active posters and can see some real diversities but no real contention. I am sad to see that thread go because that`s how we learn and grow together. Again, you are a conscientious and delightful person doing a great labor of love here. Thank you ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

RP We don't delete strings as we had issues with this in the past. You didn't know this. If a thread gets really contentious, we just close it but don't delete it.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

If you really want to learn to be the best you can be RP, you will be tested as a Mod. You will have the chance to become your best self if you go forward.People like Randall and some others will always support you and that can be counted on. When you have struggles, they are really blessings even though they hurt a GREAT deal. What is dying is just your ego, even though it feels as if it is you ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire.
