Chanukah in 2012 will start on Sunday, the 9th of December and will continue for 8 days until Sunday, the 16th of December.

Note that in the Jewish calander, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Jews will celebrate Chanukah on the sunset of Saturday, the 8th of December.

Interestingly, from a Christian+Jewish perspective, the defeat of the Greeks but the co-option of Jewish Scribes by Grecian Culture, lead to both the Bible and Torah.
