Christian anarchism is a movement in political theology and political philosophy.[1] It is the belief that there is only one source of authority to which Christians are ultimately answerable, the authority of God as embodied in the teachings of Jesus. More than any other Bible source the Sermon on the Mount, especially Jesus' call to not resist evil but to turn the other cheek, is used as the basis for Christian anarchism.[2]

Most Christian anarchists are pacifists and oppose the use of violence, such as war.[3] The foundation of Christian anarchism is a rejection of violence, with Leo Tolstoy's The Kingdom of God Is Within You regarded as a key text.[3][4] Christian anarchists denounce the state as they claim it is violent, deceitful and, when glorified, a form of idolatry

quote:
Antinomianism in Christianity is the belief that under the gospel dispensation of grace, moral law is of no use or obligation because faith alone is necessary to salvation.[1] Antinomianism and the Protestant doctrine of sola fide (justification through faith alone) are historically related. Commonly seen as the theological opposite to antinomianism is the notion that obedience to a code of religious law earns salvation, such as Legalism or Works righteousness or Judaizing.

I find myself in agreement with most of the above, to me, what "religion" has become is not what the Most High or Christ or even Buddha would have mankind to do in their name.

In Kings and Micah it mentions "every man shall sit under his own vine and tree and none shall make them afraid" is the paradigm that in my view, religion or better said, faith produces. The rest of it is the usual canard of a power hierarchy imposing itself on others "for their own good".

A bit long on this one, so I'll cut it short and will happily answer questions about it if interested.

Depends on the individual, for example the Quakers are anti govt war and based on what they feel God is telling each one they may or may not pay taxes that would go to support said war.

Long story short, when the laws of man do not conflict with the laws of God, there is no issue. When the two do conflict it is up to each individual to decide what to do next.

Generally speaking, the devout believers in this ignore government laws, but until living memory it generally wasn't hard to find some place to practice their religion "without persecution" (and might even achieve official tolerance, at least as long as they remained in their own communities). Obviously they should not be confused with those who refuse to recognize the authority of a government they don't consider "Biblical" enough (and may even act out violently, though they typically hole up somewhere with fellow believers rather than engage in terrorism).

An example of one Christian anarchist:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Tolstoy#Religious_and_political_beliefs

Here was his advice to draftees:
http://voiceseducation.org/content/leo-tolstoy-advice-draftee

IIRC, he (and those who followed his advice) spent time in the gulags, both under the Czar and Stalin, though it's possible I'm mixing him up with someone else.

Pardon me for not even bothering to wrap quote tags around such an obviously well thought out post

What an unusual understanding one shows, thanks for sharing.
