There are a few good YOU TUBE videos on the Nicheren Buddhism chanting -Nam Myoho Renge Kyo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhN3Y8aSJyI Hindu tantric mantras are considered to be very powerful - in particular beej (seed) mantras. These are single sounds which align with your chakras and a particular god energy. For example - Om, Hreem, Shreem, Kleem. Om is a seed mantra. Google beej mantras and you'll find lots of info. Here's a YOU TUBE link for a beej mantra, a rather long one. These 4 sounds - 'Om Hreem Shreem Kleem' are sufficient. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tm_Hvd_i96Y Many years ago when I was initiated by a guru, I was given a beej mantra - it was a one syllable mantra similar to the ones above. Hi Astro Keen... I 'activated' your urls above so I could listen. (Removing the letter "s" part of 'https' after you copy-paste will activate the link here on LL.) IP: Logged |

I wonder if we could use divination tools, or ask intuitive readers to say whether the repetition of a particular mantra is being effective. It may be the case that another path is more suited to one's stage of spiritual development, such as meditation. Perhaps it doesn't matter which path one follows, and most suitable one is the one which we prefer. Is it the case that some mantras are actually better for us than others as is suggested by tantra? Thus particular sounds activate different energies, and these have inherent powers which can be realised by correct chanting and intent. If that is true, then Readings could help build confidence in the use of a mantra, or help one choose a more effective one. IP: Logged |

Hey Seimei,
I've actually stopped chanting for the time being, however, I'm always interested in other practices. What practice is this one? IP: Logged |

BumpThe only one I know and can sing is the Gayatri Mantra: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE8ssnd1Pi8 Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah, Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi, Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat ॐ भूर्भुव: स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं । भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि, धीयो यो न: प्रचोदयात् ।। Translated: Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life, Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles, Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, the Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent, Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God, so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction. http://www.eaglespace.com/spirit/gayatribywords.php

...I can't find a way to translate the words to this, nor recognize the language being spoken. Melodies and the ascending Beautiful swells of the music are the cups and carriers of what this song must mean.... so Divine! (music) Powitanie Wielkiego Swietla (Swami P. SaiSiwa) [4:19] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uikG7GO6p4A I know there are stories that Babaji had had a Direct Encounter with Jesus Christ, and Jesus is in the lineage of the line of gurus. I have a powerful story in my own life about Babaji.... (music) Mahavatar Babaji-Mantra Meditation- Babaji Mantra [12:56] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0XhhKbnVUY ..... (music) Door of My Heart (old Bengali Chant) [9:24] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX7RpyBUZIw ^ I learned this last song while I was in my 20s, when I was sooo rapt with burning and deep longing for drawing Him (God, Christ) towards me on some first steps to my Journey with God. Yogananda was very special to me, and played a strong role in my Devotional walk... I've got some ~cool supernatural stories about that! Feeling nostalgic today.... Such a RICH Journey! IP: Logged |
