If prostitution was once sacred to a few of the goddesses (Inanna, Ishtar, Iset, Aphrodite to name a few), then hypothetically speaking, if one were to establish a temple to any deity involving it, would sacred 'prostitution' being outlawed be considered denial of worship? I know this sounds bad, but I'm talking in terms of the person knows what they're getting themselves into, there's consent between the priest/priestess and the devotee, and everything involved to make it voluntary, would that be considered denial of worship? ------------------ I call the planets by their Greek names. Here in the states those religions that are known to have used illegal drugs in their rites for centuries or longer often get a pass for it for religious reasons only, but one can't START a church that incorporates drug use. Natch, Christianity gets a lot more favorable treatment than any other religion when it comes to what the state will overlook to "religion" whereas otherwise it would be a crime, even a felony. But even that gets complicated (and varies wildly state by state). IP: Logged
