Hi LL,

I accidentally read that baptism basically separates a person from a multitude of spirits that exist beyond the Christian "sub-universe", so I was wondering if there's any point in trying to reverse it? If yes, how? Is the above actually true at all?

I believe in one God and angels, would undoing a baptism separate me from the angels?

Either way, I'm sort of revolted at the thought of spiritual rape and all that, I never used to think about it that way, but at the end of the day the bottom line is people baptised as children have it done to them against their will or without realising what is going on.

Or is just not going to church enough?

Many thanks in advance

I would say that's not true at all. And think about it, how could it possibly make sense?

But I don't necessarily see a problem with "reversing" it if it would make you feel better. The question you need to examine before you do is what does baptism mean to you? To reverse it could serve to also alienate you from others, if you see it as a form of inclusion or connection to God.

If you feel disconnected, then maybe it would be best to seek a new way to reconnect to whatever it is you want to connect to.

And for what it's worth, growing up in the Bible Belt I saw many use baptism (where it didn't count until one CHOSE to be baptized) merely as a rite of passage or coming of age ritual. One person gets baptized and then all his or her friends rush to do so like lemmings, out of peer pressure and also to pass a milestone to maturity (and the attention they receive is probably sweet as well). I have a hard time believing that's of any spiritual or occult significance whatsoever, just an empty ritual more similar to blowing out birthday candles than anything spiritual or occult.

Really?

Isn't that still conceiving of God according to the Judeo-Christian worldview, where there is punishment, and there is an honoring of sacraments, and there is a blaming of people for things they didn't even do?

I don't mean to sound disrespectful but if you are going to believe in that kind of God, why not just stay baptized?

I second what Faith said, I will add that if it makes you feel better don't go to Church.

Thanks, PixieJane

It's not like it's a major issue, but maybe somewhere at the end of my priorities list. Fingers crossed reconnecting to whatever I feel baptism might have disconnected me would do the trick

Who would keep you in the sub-universe except God?

So, in other words, you don't have an answer?

My question was earnest. You heard there is this spiritual scheme, and it concerns you enough that you have considered taking action, on the assumption it might be true.

Who or what would be responsible for that scheme's existence, in your opinion?

Do I sound so demanding?

My tone in my head is just pure curiosity but the text looks like interrogation. Oh well.
