Hi all!I was just thinking of the way numerolgy works. As I see it it has to do with the sounds. The sounds (that are associated to you) create certain vibrations in the universe that inevitable come back to you. Am I way off or do you see it the same way? If that is so, then shouldn't we focus on the way e.g. a name sounds, rather than the way it is spelled? Any thoughts? IP: Logged |

Perhaps, as a secondary insight. But the written (and mental) form creates vibrations also.------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Charles Schultz IP: Logged |

But that does raise an interesting point I had not considered. ------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Charles Schultz IP: Logged |

Thanks Randall! There are so many levels and angles you can look at numerolgy from. Sometimes I lose myself in thoughts, and all the possibilities make my head spin. Someone once told me that I am somewhere between knowing and believing when it comes to these things, and although I know there are so many things we can't comprehend, I find myself constantly trying to find a logical explanation for everything... Is it just me? IP: Logged |

Hi BrightLight,I know what you mean about trying to find logical explainations. I wondered about interpretations based on the sound of the name too. Some believe that is the correct way. But I wonder about the differences in pronunciation due to regional accents and how different languages pronounce some letters differently. So I'm not sure how that would work. IP: Logged |

Thanks for your reply, Jai!If we ponder that phonetic spelling is second to the actual spelling, would that mean that the letters have vibrations of their own (like the numbers)? To me, the written word seems like a rather "new" thing, compared to the history of mankind. The "early" civilisations used images instead of letters, didn't they? Also, the interpretation of the letters in numerology, would be based on the chaldean way of spelling and pronouncing?

BrightLight,According to Chaldean numerology, each letter has a vibration. When I was researching these concepts, I read some information about the ancient Hebrew language that gave me some insight about numerology. The letters were the symbols for numbers. They were one and the same. The Chaldean system originates with the ancient Hebrews from the teachings of the Kabbalah. The teachings of the Kabbalah were so mysterious and powerful that they were not written down for thousands of years and were only passed down from ear to ear. I wish I knew how it came to be translated to our modern western alphabet but I guess that information has been lost in antiquity. It is a facinating mystery. IP: Logged |

Jai,Thank you so much for shedding some light on the topic for me. It sure is fascinating. Now I just need to put all the pieces in my "knowledge puzzle" together in the right order, so that I can make sense of it all. IP: Logged |
