Hello everyone I've been lurking here for a few days & am ready to poke my head outta my shell. I'm in desperate need of some insight right now about the direction of my life in general, in hopes of constructing a framework for my immediate future (especially in regards to career or lack of). If any of you would like to offer your insight I would be highly greatful and please feel free to ask me any questions! Thanks in advance & I can't wait to get to know some of you better IP: Logged |

hrmm, confused crabby girls get sad when we're ignored... I do have a way of flying under the radar because I'm so hyper aware of coming off as an attention seeker (which I am NOT at all). But maybe a putting a face to a name will help, heh... lil' o me: [IMG][/IMG] IP: Logged |

Hi ThereI dig the hair. Really!! The most colorful I have ever gone was when my hair was short and spiky and unnatural red. I am thinking of cutting my hair again actually. Anyhooo... Why are you confused? IP: Logged |

Hi Unmoved! Glad ya dig the hair I haven't seen yours now of course, but I'm always encouraging everyone I know to take risks & get creative in the hair dept, so you should go for the new cut!! It grows back, so you can always start over, and that's what makes it so fun to experiment with! You can't do that with other body parts, hehe. Anyway, to answer your question, I'm confused because I'm at a career crossroads. I'm afraid to do what I want because it seems frivolous and of course there is a chance for failure. But by playing it safe I've found that my identity has been slowly eroded by the jobs I've been in and as a result I can't seem to function in those jobs anymore. That means, I've just been sort of floundering lately, and not even really keeping my head above water. Ugh.IP: Logged |

DominaOriens - personally, I would say go for the frivolous thing that you love. If you are worried about the money, you're right, you should be worried because at first you will be dead broke, but with time things will look up. Doing what you love leaves no room for instant gratification. But, with all the hardships of this road... there are great rewards. I am slowly getting my rewards, but they come slowly but... the slower they are, the more sustainable they become. So, it is worth it. And be realistic enough to know that for a few years, you are going to suffer for your dreams. It is called "paying your dues". But once paid... Whooooo! Good times. I don't know what you want to do, but doing jobs you hate kills the soul. Trust me. Been there and done that. Good luck though. IP: Logged |

all very good advise there Unmoved My interests are just so varied that I often feel I'm being pulled in a million directions, so it's hard to commit to one career path. I just wish there was something glaringly obvious in my chart, or at least an area where I have obvious support. Maybe I will try what has worked in other areas of my life in the past - reckless abandon! hehe Although the odds are probably against that working again... I've been lucky to this point IP: Logged |
