I'm a big fan of PA, too, of course. Who isn't? Hopefully one day we can return to communicating normally again. I can handle the man spam!

Stephen

You left me with no words. Not a familiar place. And you made me cry. Which is a familiar place.

I don't know if you know the story - this surgeon had removed the womb from the mother's body to operate on the baby and during the surgery this ensued.

Apart from my own children, this is the single most beautiful thing I have ever seen and it moves me to tears just to look at it, every time. It's beyond beautiful. To translate feelings to visuals, this is the only one that comes to me.

Just simply, thanks man. Wow.

Well, now I have no words.

I remember the story, and the photo...
I can't think of anything more moving either.

You are sincerely welcome.

You humble me, and,
for that, I thank you.

Your children are very lucky
to have a mother like you.

take care,
S

PA -beautiful picture..very touching.

stephen,
i just wanted to say, i also felt so bad for lotus. she always had such a hard time with so many things. i never could justify trying to say back off, because she brought so much of it on herself. she was a sad individual. a gifted reader, uncannily gifted. she read for me 2 years ago and said i would meet a sag, said i would have a baby in my life and other things that came true in the timeing she gave. i have no doubts of her gift. i emailedher a few months ago,and she is struggling, has sold most of her possesions, and talked a lot about how karma is a ***** . as mean as she was, i had a soft spot in my heart for her, she had been through much in life and had a very hard time handling it, along with sexual talk or joking. she has a heart, her heart is and has been broken for a long time. i wish for her healing. i wish for her a friend. not everyone can get past "the past" and she really isn't a bad person, more of a hurt person.

anyway, i always wanted to say that to someone, becasue that is how i really feel about her. kinda sad.

pa has a gift too,the gift of being able to make people laugh, the gift of understanding and one of bringing people together.

i guess life is like a potluck and everybody brings something different to the table, cake will always be more popular than sour grapes, but we need sour grapes to make wine.

cpn, Zala & AG - Thank you too for the kind words and love. I really appreciate you all.

Re: Lotus - I used to read her posts and thought she was okay. I read something in particular that really resonated with me and was going to start a thread to her so we could talk, but around that time she started attacking me in other threads and out went that thought. She was someone I would like to have gotten to know better - some of her ideas/thoughts/beliefs. I never had any problems with her. I think that there was some common ground there - we're both deeply spiritual people, but we tackle it from a different angles. I think sometimes people think that in order to be spiritual it has to be serious business whereas I don't hold that belief. I'm sad for her that she's struggling.

Stephen

I don't think it was God that I was really grappling with, just my self. I think we learn to make peace with our idea of God (or some idea of God) so we can make peace with ourselves. Maybe it's my Saturn and Mars in Taurus in 2nd that needs that stoic core of values by which to live everything by - but it's the basis of everything - the person I am, the way I live, everything I do. At the same time I'm not sure we ever reach a point where we stop facing our demons. But I've found that the only way to make peace with myself is to do so.

I think we're all the same. It's when you see yourself as more or less or better or more wounded or different in a negative way that you isolate yourself and have that inner loneliness because you can't escape it. It's easy to find company outside of yourself, but when you feel nothing inside the only one that can appease that is yourself. As much as we're all completely unique beings, we're all the same in that we all want to be loved and it's easy to see yourself in everyone when you keep that in mind.

PA - I am totally repelled by that pic. The concept is beautiful, but the blood, the slimy mucus, I'm gagging as we speak.

I sometimes wonder how I'll ever have children.

*shakes head in self-disappointment*

I think there are important differences between people, though we mustn't lose sight of the essential similarities. It takes incredible grace to recognize the very real differences between people without becoming isolated. Its much easier to deny the differences than to accept them gracefully, but is denial a better solution than isolation? Whether truth is sacrificed, or the ego is exalted, the result is equally unsatisfying. Is there, perhaps, a way to feel united, even by the things which seemingly set us apart? Can we esteem truth, including the existence of valid hierarchies, without it going to our heads, and/or isolating us? Or do we really need blinders? Just thinking aloud here.
