Hello everyone!
My name is Chelsea I'm from Kentucky but I am not a hillbilly
I am a pisces... there seems to be a lot of them here. I dont know my chart or even how to read one but i am trying to learn so if anyone could help me with that i would really appreciate it. I have a twin brother! I love to read. I love animals. I am pretty shy around people that i dont know and it takes a while for me to warm up to people.
I love going to new places and meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
I Just graduated High school last year (2008) so I am kind of young but dont underestimate me
In high school i was captain of my cheerleading team and i was also snowball queen but i am not in any way stuck up or snobby. I wouldnt have even considered myself popular. I usually like everyone i meet and i dont judge people. I am a very accepting person. I will be absolutely anyones friend as long as they are nice to me and even when someone is mean i find it hard to be mean back to them. I try to find beauty in everyone and everything.
Im just trying to enjoy life and find out who i am. If you want to know anything just ask

Welcome, Pisces here, aswell, and, ha, I'm younger than you. I also love analyzing charts, and since you don't, perhaps you'd consider that a big deal since we're both Pisces and that's pretty much the fullest extent of similarity you understand right now. (I assume since you don't know charts) Anyway, yes, welcome, and I won't hold your origin against you :P

Well I'd read a book for all the aspect and placements. That's how I got into astrology is reading old books on it I've got at my house. But with the internet the resource is virtually endless, as you could just google every aspect and find all sorts of definitions, or even better.. debate them at this website! You've probably peeked in the astrology forum at least, and that's what it's for. However the website has a handful of free sampler preprocessed horoscopes for individual aspects and placements.

For your basic terminology you'll want to know:

Aspect- in astrology this is commonly used to address a geometric relationship between two things in your chart or a chart anyway (there are charts to see how you will do at whatever time you'd like to know and stuff like that aswell). These are all the lines crisscrossing in the middle of your chart. you'll notice they end at planets.
Among aspects are:

Conjunction: This is when planets are overlapping each other looking looking towards them from the place of your birth. On your chart they'll be noted by two planets being within 10 degrees of each other. Validation could be taken to the extent of maths concerning the diameter of the questionably conjunct planets, and the distance (diminishing the diameter) between them and Earth before you might declare the planets are actually conjunct, but that's more the kind of stuff discussed on this website.
This is an aspect noted to amplify the sign (or what ever is out there affecting this - every degree has a different personality perhaps based on other stars in the vicinity - this is why we note the 10 degree difference instead of the whole sign being one), pretty obviously.

Trine: Trines are when planets (or whatever two things) are within (by standard) 10 degrees of 120 degrees apart.
This is known as a positive aspect, both planets sharing the same element.

Square: 90 degrees.
This is the negative aspect. These two planets rub each other the wrong way, or at least, are assumed to. I have a theory that they are good in that they give you a fuller understanding, having more viewpoints on the same temptation.

Opposition: 180 degrees.
These is what some say are both the best and worst aspects. It requires enlightenment to get the best out of this aspect. With out it, one of the two things in question will likely be dominated by the other.

Sextile: 60 degrees.
Quirky to pursue and suggestive in name is the sextile. It is thought to be a more powerful, less consistent version of the trine. You can see where that's going, lol.

There are smaller aspects less known in meaning.

Sign- I'd hope you'd know this, there are twelve zodiac signs representing the sky evenly partitioned. you've probably read yours considering you're interested in astrology, or at least have some association with Linda Goodman. Every four signs is the same element and every three the same mode. This gives every combination (3x4=12).
I'm not going to recite the signs, that would just be a pain in the ass.

Besides that there is the ascendant and houses. I actually don't know what every house's degree represents, but I know that the midheaven/zenith is directly out from the core of the earth passing through your birthplace, and nadir is opposite, so under the earth. And I guess the ascendant must be left ans the descendant must be left.
You'll notice that there are twelve houses, and each is said to represent the sign in order to it's grade in the path to enlightenment, eg. Aries=1 Pisces=12. There may be some confusion between there being houses AND ascendants and that but there isn't they are the same thing as follows: ascendant: 1st house cusp Nadir: 4th house cusp Descendant: 7th house cusp & Zenith: 10th house cusp.

Last but not least Planets- In case you didn't know, these are recognized as the fundimentality of astrology. How you know your self to be Pisces is the sun's position at your birth. All other planets (and lotsa comets and asteroids too!) may have there position recorded on your natal chart. These are the body of the chart.

Well perhaps you should know this aswell: Synastry- this is the comparison of two peoples natal charts to understand relationship. Aspects are noted between the two subjects' planets instead of their own individually.

Well that's just the conventional stuff everyone here will know, but a lot of them have dabbled into all sorts of other interpretations with different tools.

You may find this an overly large text and be overwhelmed to read something so textbook, but perhaps you can use it as a sort of glossary if you ever get lost and look back at it.

Anyway, perhaps you would post some superficial information about yourself to break some ice. You've probably read others' threads. We're not strictly astrologers here; we have to act out OUR personalities too!

Novel concept: Why don't you tell us how you came to recognize Linda Goodman; what books you've read of hers, since it's a site dedicated to her!

I don't know how tech savvy you are, but it would also be formal of you to post your chart or maybe just your birth time if you're not. Then we can criticize your aspects!

snohawk1,
Thank you very much for that. I am just tryin to learn more about this stuff.

I dont know what you mean by act out our personalities?? I thought this post was to tell about yourself and someone suggested to me that i introduce myself on this thread... idk? But anyways the first book i read of lindas was Love signs and it was given to me by one of my moms friends when i was about 15. I loved how accurate it was about all of my relationships and i guess thats when i became really interested in astrology... i used to read my horoscope every day when i was younger but i had no idea how complex astrology really was. In Love signs Linda talked her upcoming book Gooberz so i went to the library and got that. I have read it twice because i didnt really understand it the first time. I was 16 the first time i read it and i just finished reading it for the second time about two months ago. I have also skimmed through her book Sun signs.

I tried to post my birth chart on here but i couldnt do it.. i guess im not very "tech savvy" but my birth time is 10:05 pm.

If you have myspace or photobucket you can upload it there after saying it, then right-click, and copy the location. To post it here just follow the text:

Look in the FAQs section too here

If you read through the astro forum stuff (both forums) there's a TON of info on just about everything...the threads are also a great way to learn astrology and know how to associate lots of stuff

Well, I was just trying to help you out.

By saying we have to "act out OUR personalities" I was saying that along with taking all this time to analyze astrology, we are also subject to whatever forces allow us to declare such influence.

And that's cool that you read Love Signs at 15. 'Cause that's my first book of hers, and I'm 15! I started reading it while less than a year ago, I must have. (I'm 16 on the Ninth)

Which is another thing: We need you birthday before your birth time. Your birth place would be helpful too, but that and birth place can be sufficed since you say where you're from, and really the thing we need, is the only thing you haven't given. lol

Gosh snohawk
You sound so unbelievably cool and knowledgeable to be 16.
I'm not being patronising. I'm in awe (I could barely tie my shoelaces at that age!)
I see a tremendous future ahead of you. You sound like the type of person who will let nothing stand in your way.
Future president or premier?
I would love you to look at my chart sometime.
And chel...you read Gooberz? Twice!!!!
Have you completely skipped the mags that I read?
"Twenty ways to stop your hair sticking to your lip gloss"
and
"Why won't HE talk to you in front of his friends"

The only thing I would have used Gooberz for at 16 is a doorstop!
Look forward to your posts.

Well thank you.

And if you want to post your chart, you put the website of the raw picture (copy the astro chart pic, save it then upload it to one of the suggested image hosting sites, or one of your one if you already have one, or if you've got face book you could put it on there, then find the internet address where there is just the picture in the upper right and white everywhere else) in between the two bracketed [img]s like <remember that slash, too!

Now I shall astro you myself, and check out Bunnies' thread.
...^^ it does not appear that one exists, however you, Chelsea shall still get my astrological attention momentarily.

Alright so the first thing I notice is that you have a Taurus moon and a Libra rising (asc.) (this is because it's the first thing it shows me :P). The Libra rising I could have predicted offhand given your birth time since my birth time is 10:27pm and is Scorpio, one sign higher hence being later slightly (though I think it's the day not the time which has done this between our cases because if you divide the day by 12 you've got two hours, and we're only 22 minutes apart, though also you're late Libra and I am early Scorpio. Of course I didn't do this since I had the resource, and didn't have to.
Now the evidence of fire hangs in the balance of the accuracy of the Taurus moon, which I assume isn't too accurate since you gave me a 5 which is a rather rounded landmark address of time and having an Aries moon is very possible with it only being 0'5" in to Taurus. Then again after inspection, perhaps not, it only potentially being 2 minutes difference in either direction (and only one direction of which makes the difference).

It's interesting then, if your fireless, since you, according to this book I'm holding, are born on The Day of Zest (it's a book with a recorded personality for every day, perhaps reliant on the degree of your sun sign), and of course, fire represents just that.

This book says your strenths are being vibrant, alive, and emotionally complex, yet you're weak in that you are overenthusiastic, excessive, and thoughtless. -pretty strait forward with the title. It advises you to "Cultivate you contemplative side and confront the impotant questions of your existence. Don't get carried away with thrills and sensation. That with makes you fell alive must adapt to the aging process.". I suppose you've got a start on the first one on the first one with pursuing astrology, but I don't know you, so I can't really judge. And it gives you the meditation: "The object of one's enthusiasm is at least as important as the enthusiasm itself". It also list twenty notable people, but none of them seem to famous to me, hahaha, though I don't know your culture. So I'll look the day up on a website which has like 6 famous people born on every day, but they're up to date. yeah none of these are too popular either, but I'm sure you can look it up and see for you self, if you're interested.

This may seem like a considerable amount of stuff I'm telling you from a book for a person who claims he loves analyzing charts, so let's get on with it.

It's appears that you have 5 planets in Capricorn and Nadir running through it aswell. It seems like Nadir may represent what you are not used to being exposed to, as it is the opposite of what you are exposed to at birth, anyway. And since you have many planets there, perhaps you don't know yourself very well, or maybe even repel your intuition and natural impulses (or maybe that's what descendant is about). I could, of course, look up a meaning in a book or a website, or many of either or both (or one of both >.> ), but I would not trust someone else' analysis without analyzing it myself on a subject so important (though perhaps I am more enthusiastic about myself on this matter than you or anybody else).

Perhaps some superficial instances would appease your conception. The planet Venus is conjunct Nadir EXACTLY like not just the first number but the second one too! This is of course dependent on your birth time which may be inaccurate, but at any rate it's conjunct! So what does this mean? Well Venus represents love and relations in astrology, and, putting this together with my prediction on the meaning of Nadir, it would seem perhaps it means you feel uncomfortable around new acquaintances (you actually mentioned this, too), or with society as a whole.

I've got a book here, and I will recite what IT says about this aspect:

"This aspect indicates a love of domestic harmony. Therefore, the natives' home will be artistic and beautiful, even if on a simple scale. Since the relationship of home to marriage is important to this person, much of his money is spent on improvements in the home. Thus, there is likely to be a deep love for family and parents, along with a tendency to marry for the sake of having a beautiful family and domestic life. Fondness of good cooking is also indicated."

At the beginning I was thinking "where is this coming from?" but now I elaborate, that the meaning maybe defines a superficial reaction to being uncomfortable with society and love. It basically says this aspect indicates a love of domestic harmony. that's the first sentence, then the rest is just some superficial stuff likely associated with domestic life. Anyway it would make sense that one would love domestic harmony if uncomfortable with Venus associated stuff, because they would stereotypically feel amiss without it.

Anyway yeah that was just one aspect really strung out.
