" both ridiculous and insane " ...

I had no idea what to name this topic so I used my twitter username.

for starter here's my chart:

I'm (almost) a 3rd year student of psychology. My other major interests include film and various aspects of PC related stuff, oh and dream analysis

I've inherited the astrology bug from my mother. She frequented various astrologers and some of them had incredibly accurate descriptions of me which really made me wonder.

I used to play piano now I'm learning guitar...

and I lurk around here helluva lot

Another thing that came as a surprise is how much sense sabian symbols make... for instance my Ac's sabian is "PHASE 21 (ARIES 21°): A PUGILIST ENTERS THE RING" ... and even my username is a display of it. I picked my lindaland username because my real name was too short so I went with a longer variation which is actually nickname derrived from "similarities" with Evander Hollyfield...

excerpt from Dane Rudhyars sabian interpretations:

quote:
PHASE 21 (ARIES 21°): A PUGILIST ENTERS THE RING.
KEYNOTE: The release and glorification of social aggressiveness.
Here we find potency glorified as muscular strength and will-to-power. Because it is potency operating at a harshly competitive level, it can and often does imply the possibility of defeat or disfiguration. In one sense the symbol translates into social terms the primordial struggle for survival of the fittest, adding to it an eagerness for social fame and social power (i.e. money). In another sense, the ring with two fighters in it can be referred to the Tai Chi symbol and the interplay between Yang and Yin. Each of the two types of energy wins in turn. Victory is always temporary in a dualistic world.
This is the first stage of the fifth five-fold sequence of cyclic phases. Potency and the two-fold possibilities inherent in any release of power are seen operating at the socio-cultural and emotional level. The symbol reveals man's deeply rooted feeling of admiration and envy for whoever can generate OVERWHELMING POWER.

Anyhoo.

That's it from me for now.

Nope. I'm right handed, though for a short time in high school I wrote with both hands because I was bored in classes.

=D =)

I think a child recently born in my vicinity may have been named Evander, not entirely sure, but I think perhaps.

I'm interested in psychology, sadly I'm only in high school and a high school not located in a city of any size that would insinuate that insinuate that high schools within it would have a multitude of interesting courses at that, and indeed mine does not.

You've got plenty of time then . High school was such an amazing time in my life. And psychology can be a tad overrated. The people in charge tend to burry it in statistic and unimaginative approaches!

Given any thought to, what's next for you Arbiter?

We have some interesting synastry. Conjunctions: NNs - 3 degrees, your Mars-my Sun & AC, your Eros-my Karma, your PoF-my Mars & Destinn, your Chiron & IC-my IC, MC-MC - 3 degrees, your Pallas-my Moon. Then there's the oppostions and trines.

Hello.

This is funny. About 15 minutes ago I read one of your replies to D for Defiant and I meant to ask for, guidance I suppose, in finding inner peace. Your statement about anger got to me "Anger only eats the person holding it inside them, from inside out."

then I go to page one of your thread and I see the Obi picture , looks like I'm in the right place

Sounds like an interesting synastry! A prominent astrologist from around here mentioned in one of her lectures that Aquarius moon, especially one on 13 Aquarius makes for a great astrologer!

How do you feel about your 12th house NN? Btw my KAali is at 12 Pisces so that might be a tighter conjunction

General thought

I can't stop listening to Jeff Buckley. His chart is one of my favorite ones to analyze. I like making a parallel between him and Merylin Monroe

today's ost seems to be:

Hey Evander.
Ummm. Probably no is the answer to your question on whether choosing psych was one of my most inspired decisions.
My intention was probably right, but I didn't realize alot of things.
You know how Dorothy in 'The Wizard of Oz' (and I know that is awful assuming of me to expect you've watched this, but you did say you love film, and it is considered a film of note) anyway, you know how Dorothy is always wanting to go home, but finds out she had the power all along.
My foray into the field of psychology was much like this.
I already had a job in psychology (bartending) I just didn't realize it.
But never the less, I am a true SAG and school is actually fun for me, and I am glad I did it. I will probably go back and take something completely different, and still love something or other about it.
Those skills will serve you well in life, so don't despair on your choice!

Jeff Buckley is just one of those haunted and haunting souls, I think. Beautiful music.

Never really looked at his chart. I should. I don't really like looking at suicide charts. I'm not sure why - afraid of what I'll see and some comparisons to people I know maybe. It's a hard one.

quote:
and I meant to ask for, guidance I suppose, in finding inner peace. Your statement about anger got to me "Anger only eats the person holding it inside them, from inside out."

I'm not sure how well I can do in the guidance part, but from my own experience, because that's all I have to offer, is that you really have to forgive yourself and other people - and love yourself. That's my key to peace. And try to laugh. A lot of people think being spiritually minded is serious business. Bullocks! Have fun - laugh at life, and mostly at yourself. I think that's vital.

But loving yourself - that's the key. Treat yourself in the way that in your deepest desires you would like others to see and treat you - say those things to yourself - because in your heart - you know that you are all those beautiful things that you want other people to see in you and tell you.

It's a lifetime project - personal peace. Love yourself - and you find the path to loving everyone else. Because you can accept all your quirks and foibles, you can accept them in others.

quote:
then I go to page one of your thread and I see the Obi picture , looks like I'm in the right place

ahhhhhhh, yeah, what can I say.

quote:
A prominent astrologist from around here mentioned in one of her lectures that Aquarius moon, especially one on 13 Aquarius makes for a great astrologer!

I really want to thank you for telling me that. I asked the Universe a question and the answer came through you. I didn't know this information and it's really valuable to me. I really appreciate you being the messenger for me with that. Brilliant - thanks.

I don't know much about Kaali. I love my Pisces 12th house NN. Spirituality is my great passion and love. It's not the easiest natal placement because it means moving away from all that 6th house/Virgo stuff, but faith is the key with 12th house. It's like you're being pushed to learn to trust the Universe, and that's just that!

for starters :

@PeaceAngel

Jeff Buckley's death is actually ruled accidental drowning. Not alcohol/drug related according to police statements I read

Jeff Buckley's chart with transits at the time of death: http://i27.tinypic.com/amd3s6.gif

I've been fond of his music for quite a while. But my real interest into his life came when I was doing research on the number "22", since I heard that number has a specific, let's say, vibrations

I did an astrotheme search for Neptune on 22nd degree among others and I hit 2 wide world famous celebrity deaths both with 8 houses ruled by Neptune

MArylin Monroe's chart with transits at the time of death: http://i29.tinypic.com/2myddu0.gif

That was my attempt to try and maybe validate astrology through the dreaded statistic methods

quote:
I really want to thank you for telling me that. I asked the Universe a question and the answer came through you. I didn't know this information and it's really valuable to me. I really appreciate you being the messenger for me with that. Brilliant - thanks.

I couldn't be more excited about this. I'm glad I could answer it in the name of universe

on 12th house NN:
what you said about trusting the universe struck a cord. I tended to be very untrusting and I'm trying to work on it. It's a work in progres

Did your mom have a hard labor?

I read once that in difficult labors NN in 12th house can serve as a "gate to life"

I'm thinking of renting a room in the city and going to alternative school while I work part time actually. I think I'm being really held back by Saturn and I want to get away from my locked situation and live in a new real world.

Uranus is conjunct my sun it will be exact soon..

Well that was what an astrologer was talking to me about yesterday anyway (I got a reading, sort of) but looking at it myself the conjunction is 7 degrees, and Uranus is past it, however it is retrograde, but I don't know how long Uranus is inclined to be retrograde for :/

@ for starters.

That's really interesting about NN 12th house labours and "gate to live". I've never heard anything like that before. My mother did have a very difficult labour.

I think everything is always a work in progress. The problem with Virgo (South Node) is this need to be "perfect" before being worthy of certain things.

Interesting about Jeff Buckley. I've just been reading about him. Now, that I did not know. I just always thought it was suicide.

Last night I became a new victim of the Computer gone crazy 101. Luckily that's one of the rare things I'm completely competent of fixing.

@Cardinal Arbiter
Any time/money you invest in any kind of education is not time wasted. That's one of the rare things I'm certain of. If I had an opportunity like you I think I'd take it. Let me know how it goes!

@PA
I haven't spoken to iQ about my research because I'm far less competent. The whole research came from the fact that I needed to study statistics and doing research on left handed/right handed people was the equivalent of shooting myself in the kneecap . There is a lot of work to be done before it's even close to a valid research. I need at least 3 more charts and then I think I want to compare some sabian symbols. And of course a more thorough research into numerology.

I have this goal of making a completely valid psychological research on matters of astrology because many of the people on my university discredit Jung for fixing up his researches to match his astrological presumptions.

I understand. The concept of needing to rationalise (prove) something to others that makes perfect sense (to me) otherwise is very familiar. Psychology, astrology, numerology, personality types, etc, they all go hand in hand. If people could get past the perception of the inaccurate daily horoscope in the local newspaper they'd find such richness - in themselves - through astrology. Good luck with that. I really respect what you're doing.

summary of an interesting psychology research regarding astrology:

The authors asked 52 college students (38 women, 14 men, M age = 19.3 years, SD = 1.3 years) to identify their personality summaries by using a computer-generated astrological natal chart when presented with 1 true summary and 1 bogus one. Similarly, the authors asked participants to identify their true personality profile from real and bogus summaries that the authors derived from the NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI; P. T. Costa Jr. & R. R. McCrae, 1985). Participants identified their real NEO-FFI profiles at a greater-than-chance level but were unable to identify their real astrological summaries. The authors observed a P. T. Barnum effect in the accuracy ratings of both psychological and astrological measures but did not find differences between the odd-numbered (i.e., favorable) signs and the even-numbered (i.e., unfavorable) signs.
