Never did do one of these Threads for myself, so I thought I might do it now.

Think I'll just weave little tales of how my days have been. Assuming time permits, of course.

It was a dark and stormy night. The wind wove tree threads in a pattern all its own as it keened through barren bough. A crackle broke through the cloud like a whip, shaking all the ground.

The lone figure bowed as his windswept form cut through the fog, following the mournful dirge. This lowing of sound in it's resonantly incessant call was the only wayshower before him. All time ceased as this undulation pulled him to the Light, the only Warmth in this place, the One Light to which he felt he must go.

To The Light.

Remembering when first she came, a petal dropped softly...

Was it all meant to be?

Caressing the velvety softness with finger unthinking, she mused to herself.

Thinking to the time; the time before, when the roots underlying ripped and torn from their nest deep within, uncaring they came.

Tell yourself they had right, the right of primogeniture, they would be left to starve...

No, that matters not.

To do that, that we cannot do. Look to the bud, fresh-drawn, newly sprung; to rip them from the soil, Murderous, they were. Murderously keen.

That I could not and would not do.

For look, I too have been torn. Torn and tossed endlessly from wave to wave, planting never to see the fruit. Torn forth from the home I love.

So stay she must. Minding not that the rose must stay. Minding not that once fateful day. No longer do I feel myself a part of this to be.

So the Single Red Rose shall stay.

The Compass arose in her mind, lily-fair.

When journeying to the Land, one must take into account that which is truly fair.

Beauty. That which truly smells sweet, not now only, but ever. When the Rose was Still, it was a Beauty so rare. Precious and Still.

That which echoes in the hills and halls, resonant and right.

So, future deeds remain.

I had no idea this was the same basic format as "Gooberz."

I am using the "Tales from the Lighthouse" bookmark in Honour of this.

And it WAS a Dark and Stormy night...

Not that I noticed...

Okay, it's happening again.

This is the Rose that I wrote this about.

And I'm almost sure it's A Mister Lincoln.

I was just thinking as I gazed upon the Five-Fold Formation of the Heirloom Variety this day,

of the Fleeting Nature of the Bud...
