my great grandmther was a capricorn. when i was about three i have serious memories that she had astroogy coffee mugs for several members of the family, and what i remember was that her mug said complement: cancer. years later when i studied astrology i learned that opposition was the name of that aspect...was "complement" an ancient or esoteric astrology term? i have failed to find any references to "complement" describing the 180-deg aspect as of a few brief house of searching, so i thought i could ask here... first KNOW then you have WON

Had some really nice fish on it, looked like Siamese Fighting Fish or something.Don't think my Grandma's Taurus was quite as nice. And I remember thinking that she couldn't stand my Father, who was a Scorpio. Ha, forgot all this til now. IP: Logged |

Hey Randall! You know I saw that quote on the OP in Star Signs last night, in Chapter Nine. Are you an Immortalist, Alkmi? Cause Randall is, too. IP: Logged |

thanks, what i was really asking was "was anyone else familiar with the term" - because i have been familiar with it since the seventies. i pretty much enjoyed Star Signs. as for that other question, ask me again in the age of Saggitarius. if i can't answer, well... IP: Logged |

i really enjoyed Star Signs... and what i was really asking was if anyone else was familiar with the term.chapter 9 of Star Signs, that was the chapter on physical immortality. i have purchased maybe TEN copies of that book. all of them lent out and NEVER RETURNED. as for your question, ask me again in the age of Saggitarius. if i can't answer, because i am dead, well, that might be your answer. It's not an Aspect, it's just what they are to one another.I've heard it many times. IP: Logged |

...since i was a wee child i was lucky to have friendship with greatgrandmother capricorn. she died...it was so close to a hundred years exactly -- like, less than a week from her birthday. she was 99...it was her who had the cups with the starsigns on them - although i guess maybe her gemini granddaughter, my mother, bought them for her...they broke many years ago. but i always felt that with capricorn people...the idea that 'complement' and 'opposition' were two different...perspectives...
on the same angle between luminaries. cancer and capricorn can go against each other as bitter adversaries -- like Cancer Don Rumsfeld recieving the pet name "ruthless little ******* " from Capricorn Richard Nixon...but those are not "enlightened folk" by any stretch of any imagination, although they may have been known to the Illuminati...not the same thing. not the same sort of Light!" whereas if capricorn and cancer are self-knowledgeable, looking for each other, the energies of the two signs harmonize so well...that the two 'complement' each other very well. at least, that's been my experience. i have a bit of Earth in my chart as well, a preponderance of late Virgo, so maybe i really relate to "the Capricorn mystery." maybe there's something deeper i have been getting at? about astrology, and how Linda taught me that i had already known that astrology veers sharply towards harmony and balance. so i look for those things, my eyes are peeled for harmonious, balancing blends. perhaps -- to those who are actively, consciously seeking character-building, growing spiritual experiences in their lives...the strong power of the 180-deg sun-sign vibration is something to look forward to -- as we know that it is about growth and balance...the "pair of opposites" so ubiquitous to Chinese philosopy.

ah, thanks, man. to tell you the truth? she was not really healthy for the last ten years of her life. she had been very healthy up until age 89.(this means "get exercise, knowflake.") every day she would garden. when she was in her sixties and seventies, always in the yard planting, digging, hands and knees from seed to harvest. but there was a house accident and she was forced to take a third floor apartment. there was no practical way for her to get out and garden, and THAT was when her health really deteriorated. so i take the "i'm glad her suffering is over." attitude. there should be better help for the aged. but that might have to wait another generation. i thank you for showing care. -taste the rainbow IP: Logged |
