Okay, here's the thing. I believe you can work with planets during transits, giving them a way into your life rather than waiting to see what happens.
Others disagree. Go to the Lindaland Central Forum and briefly read my example. The thread entitled help me be pro- active with pluto.
What do you think?
Does giving a planet a path in your life keep the lessons need to be learned gentler because you are working with rather than fighting change??

Well guys, if you are for free will, shouldn't one walk the walk and not just talk the talk?

That's why I try to incorporate the energy of the difficult planets in my life, giving a bow of acknowledgment that they want in my life, I give them their place and truly that seems to work.

But with so many people for free will ( I've read old threads) why are so few believing that you can work with a planet?

Can you give an example (post from this forum)?? There are a lot of people at LL who are new to astrology, or never went into in-depth study before. Sometimes, when people discover astrology, they think they’ve found this Power that has control over their lives (as our ancestors thought), that can tell them what to do and when (tell their future), and will explain everything they want to know, just by employing different interpretive means (natal, transits, progressions, solar arcs) of the mathematical positions of orbiting bodies and fixed stars and Galactic Centers. Once they come to believe (or suspect) that some type of astrological aspect or position is responsible for everything that happens to them (imho, an erroneous view, but that has been debated elsewhere) -- that often engenders FEAR. Lots of threads here at LL are of the variety “my Saturn Return is coming, I’m terrified” or “I’m worried about Pluto coming to sq/opp/conj my ______ (insert planet name here).” This view of astrology implies loss of control – that humans are at the mercy of balls of gas/rock/ice in the sky. Some find it comforting to have a faceless (planetary) entity to "blame" for the way they feel and the things they do. Being a “lazy” Libra with a Watery grand trine, I’m content to let things come – my door is always open
But that doesn’t mean I don’t (on occasion) express enormous drive and accomplish the moving of mountains (running thru the door )…..

PS: Robert Heinlein wrote: "Last I heard, the free-willers and predestination-ers were tied in the 4th quarter." (or something close to that, I'll dig out the book if necessary )

boy Azalaksh you follow me around like that teacher with a paddle picture you posted, forever making me feel like a naughty student-LOL!
I will look up the treads but give me a bit of time to search because hubby wants me to clean the house before company comes over, and when I first came to LL I was reading through old posts- so give me some time.
But I will find them!

I'd like to understand why you feel that submitting/surrendering to the "needs" of a transit is defined as *NOT* working with the planetary energies.
Say, you need to go somewhere -- quick. You can run out the door and all the way there, expending a lot of energy, or you can walk out the door and take a bus, thus surrendering your body to the greater power and speed of the bus (and requiring less effort on your part ).....
You still get to the same place, albeit with different scenery

I love parables

Truth is truth, 'Zala.

Its always fun, and convenient, to speculate on other people's motives for believing this or that.

Its much harder to debate the actual issue; that is, whether or not it is true; regardless of what it does for us, or how it makes us feel.

Is it any wonder that those who are too intellectually lazy, or otherwise unfit, for the latter business, will frequently content themselves with the former?

Asalaksh:
I see what you mean, surrendering and as working with a planets energy. I just assumed that means continuing as usual and then when something life changing happens surrendering to it. Whereas what I'm really meaning is before the transit take up something that falls under that planets catagory so you give it an outlet to work with.
(Forgive me I know I'm not always clear in communicating--neptune is in my 3rd)
For example if you have pluto going thru 3rd, why wait for "something"? Why not do those things like throw out old diaries and be ruthless in clearing out clutter, take to reading occult books. My therory is that pluto wants in your life to make a change, to clear out the old junk. Isn't that surrendering in a sense, you are allowing the pluto stuff, rather than waiting or worse fighting it, clinging to the old.

I believe that first God whispers to us. Then he he taps us on the shoulder. He will speak firmly until finally he must knock us on our arses to get our attention. I am premtive. I seek the change before it seeks me. I do have pluto in the 1st=personal transformations; I suppose you could also say it's a control thing. I may not be able to control "things out there", but I can control myself- well sort of...
