how you move?

I heard Mercury had something to do with movement. That's interesting because I know two or three people with Mercury conjunct Uranus that are very fast runners.

I would associate Mars with physical movement more than Mercury.

I believe so

in Mythology, Mercury/Hermes was the messenger of the Gods.....he was the swiftest with his winged sandals. He was also a highly precocious god too..only a day old, he stole his brother Apollo's cattle. He sacrificed some to the Gods including himself. He was the god of travelers, vagabonds, liars, thieves, merchants, commerce, and science. see how they are connected? hahahahah

seriously......yeah......I believe Mercury has to do with speed, quickness

it is also the fastest planet to evolve around the Sun, and that fits with mythological symbolism of the God, Mercury/Hermes in regards to his swiftfootedness.

I was a very fast runner myself in spite of having flat feet,I had a tippy-toed running style that led me to run lighter on my feet. I am very fast reacting, quick reflexes. I also have an overactive nervous system, hyperactive in that way. I believe that my quick reflexes and by being nervous are strongly connected. Take for instance..flinching, it involves nervousness and quick reactions. My body would just instinctively react quickly to people's movements.

I also have to add that I am part black on my father's side. I have the same build as him (short torso, long arms, long legs with big thighs which is a typical black African build). It is well known that blacks tend to be sprinters, faster runners, especially when you see they tend to dominate sprinting competitions. Of course, there are always exceptions. When you see world track sprinting events including especially the Olympics, it seems like all the leading sprinters are black. My speed had nothing to do with being part black, and I even outran many fast darkskinned black guys.

I wasn't fast runner because of my long strides due to being long legged. I was an explosive runner. I was also just very naturally quick, fast. So I combined long strides, explosiveness, and quickness and an unorthodox running style(tippy-toed).

there was one time during track/field practice, the coach made us sit down and made us move our arms rapidly like we are running. I was moving my arms so rapidly that I was picking by butt off the ground, and I was getting looked at like I was a freak of nature. I never forgot that. hahahahaha

also I don't fit stereotypes either
I was never muscular-hard bodied person. I always had a soft body, and I was chubby until I was 11 years old...I was getting taller and getting thinner. With the continuing gain of height, loss of weight, I got faster, quicker. I have lower than average testosterone levels and high estrogen levels for a male, and so my being a very fast runner had nothing to do with having high levels of testosterone. I think that their certain myths and stereotypes that need to be shot down. Sometimes,I wonder my purpose of being born is to challenge and defy the stereotypes that society believe in and propose progressive thinking to move past stereotypes.

the average travel rate of Mercury is 59 minutes per day. My Mercury has a travel rate of 1 degree,30 minutes per day. Therefore,I have a fast Mercury. That can be fast mental processing, and it can be quick reactions.

My Mercury is in 3rd house, and so Mercury is in it's own house. It's like having Mercury in Gemini. 3rd house corresponds with Gemini.
that could be great quickness,speed

Mercury conj the heliocentric South Mercury Node - '21
that could be great quickness,speed

Mercury conj the heliocentric Mars Node - 1'00
that could be great quickness, speed, fast actions

Mercury conj the Mercury apogee - '04

Mercury apogee is the most distant point of Mercury's orbit farthest from the Earth. Therefore Mercury was at its most distant point from the Earth when at the moment of my birth.

midpoints:
Mercury square Mars/Node - '08

My Mercury is also part of an 11th harmonic pattern that involves Uranus and Ascendant
with corresponding midpoint picture of
Uranus conjunct Mercury/Ascendant - '36
That's an indicator for quick, and even hasty reactions to one's environment

one of my issues is that I tend to do things too rapidly...whether it's talking, walking, eating

That's because of that hyperactivity as well as my poor sense of time(not knowing if I am going too fast or too slow). At times,I can do things too slow. I am a bit of a paradox.

I also believe that willpower, competitiveness plays a part in running too. That definitely fueled my running

Think of how Jerry Rice was relatively slow when it came to being clocked, but when he played football, it was like he could outrun anybody. He had that football speed that was unmatched. Look...he owns most of the NFL's important receiving records. He even has the record for the most total touchdowns and yards.

that's example of willpower and competitiveness can make somebody faster.

My indicators for competiveness, willpower that enhance my speed

Sun contraparallel Pluto - '46
intense vitality,willpower

Sun,Mars,Pluto are in golden section triangle
with corresponding midpoint picture of Pluto square Sun/Mars - '14
intense,passionate vitality,willpower,and competitiveness

Mars/Pluto square Ascendant - '04
intense,passionate,willpower,competitiveness

midpoint-midpoints conjunctions, oppositions within 1 degree can be important

Sun/Mercury conjunct Jupiter/Uranus - '03
this could indicate great speed, quickness, but also overactiveness nervous system

Those are some examples of what to look for when it comes to great speed, fast runners.

but yeah....I agree with Mercury

If you're into asteroids

there is actually an asteroid called Jesseowens named after the 4 time gold medalist champion in track and field at the Berlin Olympics. He singlehandedly put a huge dent in Hitler's Aryan Supremacy idea in athletics.

the number is 6758

it could pertain to people who have great speed, fast runners

my Jesseowens is in 6'19 Scorpio in 2nd
conjunct my Sun in 5'20 Scorpio in 2nd
quincunx my Saturn in 5'08 Gemini R in 9th

so Sun conjunct Jesseowns with 1 degree orb,and retrograde Saturn in Gemini quincunxes that conjunction.

That is very interesting. That's my asteroid indicator for great speed, fast runner.
I had to give up track/field in high school because of academic problems.

Yes, as Glaucus pointed out, it would have to do with movement. Also, Mercury does rule travel to a degree (short trips)...and think about the term mercurial..elusive, quicksilver, hard to pin down.

Though I would think it also has to do with where Mercury is in the chart.
