Does anyone have any experiences with Saturn transiting their 2nd house?

I got a forecast report from Astro.com and it says this transit is a time of financial loss, and poverty. Saturn flipped my personal and home life upside down, and hammered me to the ground during this current transit through my 1st house, now it's going to leave me broke while it goes through my 2nd house?

What is Saturn's problem? Why can't he leave me alone!

Saturn enters my 2nd house in September, so I was wondering if anyone could share some experiences, so I can have an idea of what to expect. Did anyone go broke, or lose all their material possessions?

It doesnt necessarily mean money troubles and poverty. It depends on your chart and other transits..alternative meaning could be that you have a lot of money coming in that it has to be organized. Do you think wealthy people go broke when Saturn in the 2nd? just like not everyone who has Jupiter in the 2nd transit will be showered with money. It might cause some difficulties, and I can guarantee you will make the transit worse by worrying/panicking about it. Try to prepare your finances as best as possible and be optimistic.

Saturn is about to transit my 2nd house. I'm glad it's out of my 1st house because those were years of my biggest social problems. I had a very hard time defining myself and my identity. And it's difficult to tell which scenario played out:

1) Either Saturn just completely screwed things up while it was transiting through.

or

2) Things were already screwed up before Saturn transited through, and when it did, it fixed everything.

I definitely feel like I now have a good structure of who I am.

If the case is the 2nd scenario, then I'm hoping that Saturn's transit through my 2nd will give structure to my self-worth now, because although I know who I am, I still can't say I'm sure of my values.

To answer your question: Yes, Saturn is causing some shriveling of goods, but actually, I'd say I'm not really losing anything. I'm just not placing my values on the same things I used to, therefore it appears as if I'm losing my stuff, but in actuality I just don't find them worth anything anymore.

I don't think you'll actually go broke. That's a bit extreme, probably more of Pluto's jurisdicion.

Good luck to you from a fellow 2nd-House-Saturn-transiter.

Also, I forgot to add: I have Jupiter in my 2nd House natal, too.

An alternative interpretation would be a time you buckle down and work harder at making money. It isn't just money, the 2nd house is about building anything of value. During this time your attention is drawn to those things and perhaps you judge yourself your past stuff as now needing more focused attention/work.
Your values can become more tradional.
Money might be made through things that are traditionallly associated with capricorn/saturn.
I see it more as a time you want to make something of worth in your life.
If your concerned with this transit meaning loss just do the things associated with this transit (donate til it pinches the ole pockets, force yourself to save during this time- an amount that tightens the rest of your budget, come up with a plan/budget and no matter how difficult stay with it until the transit passes).

I'll tell you why that will work. The transit reflects what you are going through at a specific time. Doesn't matter if you plan it or are forced by circumstance into it. So the easist way is to choose your finacial challenge (as suggested above) and the transit reflects that!

Thank you writesomething! I'll try not to worry myself so much. It's hard though sometimes not to feel that panic, since my daughter and I live on one income, and very little support from her dad. Every month it's a pile of bills, and I can't help but feel overwhelmed. Every month it's a new expense, or bill, A repair bill here, an emergency room visit there, my uncle just had a heart attack and needs some money to buy medication, etc, etc...it all adds up.

I don't ever splurge on myself, and have no luxuries, yet the amount of money paid out for bills and expenses every month, always seems to exceed the amount of money coming in.

I know everyone (except Bill Gates maybe) probably feels this way. Trying to stay afloat with all the bills. I don't even want to think about what the cost of schools and colleges will be in a few years. Sheesh!
Government doesn't ever think about helping the middle class. Hopefully that will all change with Obama.

I just pray that Saturn will be easy on me!

Aste*risk, I just went through my Saturn transiting my 1st house too, which also happened to be my Saturn return, conjuncting my North Node as well.

I know what you mean about not knowing whether Saturn screwed it up, or fixed it up! It definitely unraveled my life at the seams. So I stand here with a large ball of the tangled threads of my life, and wonder how I am supposed to make something useful out of this. I guess the story is to be continued through my 2nd house. Kind of like Saturn telling me, "Look, I've undone all the messes you've made with your life the past 28 years, now put it back together, and do it right this time."

Can you please drop me some updates on how your saturn transit goes, as it moves further through your 2nd?

BTW, I have Pluto in my 2nd house natally. Could that mean anything in particular?

The 2nd house is not only about money, it's also about personal values.

I got my first job ever when Saturn hit my 2nd. the first time i actually worked for my money.

it did start with finding myself with no money support. I had just started my masters degree and found out that the money allowance I was getting didn't include any further training than the 4 years in university.

it was a terrible blow. I had never worked before; I was really low and quite terrified of the big bad world that had suddenly made an appeareance in my life.

then I got that job and in a few months my self-esteem was up and shining. and it was a really good thing, too. it made me feel a lot better about who I was and what I could accomplish.

PS there's quite a few self-made billionaires out there with Saturn in the 2nd natally. the fear of poverty that motivates making great fortunes

Saturn transiting the 2nd house requires you to take a look at your finance and more specifically, at what sustains your autonomy. It is also about reviewing your moral values and your level of generosity.

Is GemGemGem still around?

It would have been great to get an update on how she handled this transit.

Gem, I'm going through it right now. In fact I just got tSat square nSat two days ago as well.

Work is harder to find, billing is getting slower to turn around while bills are coming sooner with more charges added.

You've got to put more work in to counter the effects. Ask for discounts. Get in front of more clients to build your business (or more interviews to get the better paycheck). Cut out the clutter that keeps you from focusing on the important things. Saturn transits reward effort, so work with it. In the meantime, batten the hatches and hold on to the people important to you.

Edit... Just saw that this is a bit of thread necromancy. Did I mention that tSat is also approaching opposition with nMercury?
