Just finished the 3rd transit of my ASC by uranus and nothing happened.

I just want to reiterate the point that the ASC and all calculated points do not respond to squares, trines, sextiles, etc. They only respond to conjunctions. And even when transited by conjunction - they will not be as significant as a transit to a personal planet.

Yeah, transits never seem to have an effect on me. Life stays the same.

Are you paying attention?

Transits to personal planets: the sun and moon most of all...followed by mercury, venus and mars, ceres and vesta are pretty obvious in my experience. Particularly by conjunction, opposition, parallel, contra-parallel, square and trine.

It's been rather hard to ignore the t Uranus opposition to my Sun. Add the Saturn transit conjunct my Sun and that's when I really start to jump for joy.

Often when I check back on transits I am struggling to think of an outstanding external event that I can pinpoint. Normally it is something general, life decisions and changes, nothing dramatic.

However, looking back to when Uranus Trined my Ascendant I see it coincides with one of the most significant and dramatic periods of my life.

Not that this proves anything categorically one way or the other.

I was hoping that nothing would happen when Uranus squared my Gemini ASC. The anxiety was overwhelming (Uranus' electric energy coupled with Gemini's Mercurial energy) and a relationship ended rather shockingly (Uranus square the ASC/DSC Axis).

In 2007, transiting Saturn was square my ASC. It was the 1st time in my life that I didn't travel the short distance to visit my family and friends on Christmas and November for no reason at all. I pretty much stayed home in my room until the evening and fixed myself a normal dinner. I don't think I was super lonely (Saturn) because I spent time with my non-romantic roommate, but it was incredibly strange to me that I would do such a thing.

When transiting Pluto crossed my Descendant in 1996 during the retrograde pass, I broke up an 8 year relationship because the pressure (Pluto pressure) to get married was too much for me, coming from my spouse and I had to tell him the truth, that I didn't love him.

So, I suppose it's quite individual. There are charts that don't react, or I should say people who don't respond to certain transits. I can't say that I respond to all of them, and I'm glad when they look like "big scary" transits, progressions or arcs.

Solar Arc Uranus on my ASC was very striking, impossible to ignore.

Thanks G.V for bringing Solar Arcs to my attention. I didn't know much about them until I joined this site. Now I look out for them, and read your posts on this topic.

Progressed Sun Square Uranus was horrible. Again, health problems beyond my control. But there was a lot of soul searching that went with it that was not pleasant.

Natally I have a Grand Trine with the Sun, Uranus and Mars in Aqua. So I always thought I would love Uranus triggering my chart and the dramatic change it brings. But the reality of life has cured me of this arrogance.

Well, Uranus will square my Gemini ASC soonish, so I'll get back to you on whether anything significant happens later. Though when it does, it will also conjunct my Venus. *sigh*

I will say this though, when Pluto crossed my DSC (opposed my ASC), I broke up with my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years. Though it was squaring my Venus at the same time.

I might've said this before the last time you made a post about nothing happening to the ASC if it's not a conjunction.

My current boyfriend is going through a Pluto conjunction to his DSC right now. We've only been together for 6 months, during this whole transit. Before we started dating, he was sort of seeing this other girl who had a boyfriend. He proposed to her the 2nd day he met her. It was one of those whirlwind relationships, starts fast, ends fast. He stopped seeing her to be with me. I think Pluto crossing his DSC had a lot to do with that.

Actually, exactly when he decided he wanted to be with me instead, Pluto was retrograding at 0 Cap, his ASC is at 0 Cancer.

Appreciate the responses.

The only way to prove this one way or the other - is to have uranus aspecting the ASC which does not have any planets on it or forming hard aspects to it. If you have a planet in aspect to your ASC - when uranus is aspecting the ASC it will also be aspecting that planet. I have nothing on my ASC which is why a uranus square ASC transit in which nothing happened was striking.

This is also a time when there are no other major transits going on so it is a good litmus test. I maintain the ASC is the most overblown point in astrology today.

I suddenly quit my job when Uranus squared my MC.

my best guesses:
-your Asc is incorrect
-your evaluation is incorrect - something did 'happen', you're just not seeing it. (it's not what you'd expect).

ex. each change of Uranus in transit, being in my 1st hs, coincides with me changing my hairstye or colour. when exact conjunction, I did not moved (as every book suggests), but I was thinking about it a lot. all these could get lost among other things happening or desired to happen.

Hi Bucketrider,

I'm sure you've been asked this question a million times before so please indulge my repetition: Are you a million percent sure that your ASC is in that spot?

I use to think as you do about the Angles, even the Sun and Moon, then one day someone pointed out to me that I, the Great and Powerful Oz, had calculated my own chart wrong. For years I thought I was a Taurus Rising, even my body type resonates with the description of a Taurs ASC, then when I calculated it correctly BINGO BANG!!!! I was a Gemini Rising with no planets aspecting it and I identified more with my ASC than I ever did with my Sun or my Moon.

You might understand why that is because I'm an Aries with Sun in 12th House. I never felt like the description of an Aries. Also my Moon in Cancer is squared my Saturn, no wonder I don't feel like a Cancer Moon, it's a wonder I feel anything at all. I don't nurture a damn thing. No kids, no animals, no plants, and don't ask me to cook. You've got fingers, dial up the restaurant and make reservations or get a delivery. That's the truth of my world, but if you say Gemini, it's a whole new world. Even though my Mercury is conjunct Saturn with a 3 degree orb, I still resonate with Gemini and every transiting hit, arc, progression or a fly lands on my chart, I feel it there.

See. I don't even know when to shut up. How Gemini is THAT?!!!

Geocosmic -

The reason your sun and moon sign didnt resonate is bec the signs are a fiction used to make astrology appeal to the masses. Signs help understand the relationships with the aspects and that is what they were probably originally intended to do. They are a story about the aspects. Aries - conjunction. Libra- opposition etc.

The aspects your planets make to the outer planets, asteroids and centaurs will be orders of magnitude more revealing than the signs.

I am 100% sure of my ASC.

For every supposed attribution to an transit to the ASC - I challenge anyone to give me their info and I will find something on their sun, moon or personal planet which will tell the story much more clearly.

Hey Bucketrider, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that the signs and sign descriptions hold no validity? Here is my info: June 15 1978 @ 11:24am in Atlantic City, Nj. I completely resonate with my chart. Now, I'm not being an a$$, I just would like to hear your point of view on it.

------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚
And yes, i'm a guy!

Hi Bucketrider,

I agree with you that Sun Sign Astrology is weak marketing for what can strongly be gleaned from astrology, and by not fully identifying with my own Sun and Moon signs, it forced me to find the answers within the aspect structures, midpoints and house rulership network, that's where it all happens for me.

I can't quite agree yet that the signs are complete fiction, even though I don't go hog wild with them in my consultations. Time will tell for me if my interest peaks about the asteroids and centaurs, but it hasn't quite yet. I am currently reading the college text book "Discovering The Universe: From The Stars To The Planets" by Neil F. Comins and it's opening my eyes to other planets and points in the universe that could be looked into astrologically, but the book is pure astronomy.

Can you direct me to some reading material or links that are good for studying the asteroids and centaurs and their symbolic meaning?

I'm not one to give out my birth data, but could you possibly use a celebrity or politician for your example? One that I'd like to see is President Nixon or Kennedy or - WOW! Theodore Roosevelt. Or someone that you can think of who everyone would know and could follow along.
