Does anybody have some insights, some links to post? Due to Mercury-rx or whatever I didn't find any substantial info via Google-search ... ;-)

It's a Solar eclipse new Moon, closely connected with transiting Jupiter.

Due to the Mercury retrograde period, the Solar eclipse is sending us a very unique message. Look to your activities during the eclipse phase of August 2008 for clues.

Also, Mercury will travel backwards and connect with the degree it was at during the last new Moon on Dec 26, so look to that date for clues as well.

Depending on where you live the New Moon/Solar Eclipse is either tonight or tomorrow (tonight at 11:55 PM PST or 2:55 AM EST or 7:55 AM GMT) at 6'29 Aquarius.

A short blurb from the site I linked:

quote:
This is the New Moon for radical change. Aquarius is often thought of as visionary: an energy that looks beyond the norm, questions accepted truths, boldly claims originality, flies in the face of reason, and flatly refuses to blindly follow the dictates of others. And oh, if you are like me, (always ready to dive into Aquarian energy) you will be very happy on this New Moon with the awesome grouping of Jupiter/Sun/Moon/North Node/Chiron/Neptune in utopian Aquarius. Pluto/Mars/Mercury in Capricorn will temper the Aquarian vision-thing with a big dose of Saturnian reality. The good news is that in order to manifest real change, vision and realism are needed in equal measure.

This is the Eve of the Chinese New Year; the Year of the Ox. The ox holds much of the same qualities as Capricorn, so use the planning talent of Capricorn to think about implementing radical change for the long haul. Uranus and Venus in transcendent Pisces opposing Saturn in Virgo lend agendas for change a practical, yet compassionate spirituality. All this makes for a New Moon that is ripe for envisioning actual implementation of radical change. The annular solar eclipse will add a bit of heightened energy to this New Moon.

There's a lot more about it in the full article and it's very interesting and insightful so it's definitely worth a look.

From Jan Spiller:

NEW MOON REMINDER... Monday, January 26, 2:56 am EST, is the New Moon Power Day in January! Don’t miss this opportunity to make wishes for goals you’d like to reach and experiences you’d like to have. The New Moon of January is further empowered by a SOLAR ECLIPSE occurring at the same time! To harness BOTH the power of the New Moon and the Solar Eclipse, this is definitely a time to set aside for declaring wishes.

Because this New Moon is in the sign of AQUARIUS, it’s a powerful time for new beginnings in friendships and taking steps to make your larger, life goals and dreams come true. Things you may have wanted to happen in your life for a long time can begin easily manifesting through using the boost of this friendly and intelligent New Moon.

Thanks for posting this substantial info, i.e. these links! And a special thanks to ALOOF OBSESSION for calling my attention to these former placements. Very interesting to look at these indeed, that wouldn't have come to mind if you hadn't mention it.

During that last solar eclipse (16th of August) I still was grieving over a break-up that had occured in April. The weird thing then: I had to spent August in my Ex-bf's town, due to professional reasons. AND: This last solar eclipse occured during the night prior to my Ex's birthday - Moon oppsoing his natal Sun - and me being geographically quite close to him - really a WEIRD situation then, in August, oh my;-)

Nevertheless, during that respective night I went on a date with another man whom I had just met and made an acquaintance with in that foreign town. That date turned out to be quite charming and flirtatious ... but nothing more grew out of it. Tr. Moon was in my 3rd house then - opposing my natal BM Lilith.

As far as the last New Moon on 26th of Dec is concerned: I came to acknowledge that VENUS then was almost in the exact position where the MOON had been during the solar eclipse in August: on 22° Aqua...! Does that mean something???

Personally, tr. Mercury that day was opposing my natal Sun - as it does again these days... Hm. Not too comfortable.

Looking at the upcoming New Moon/eclipse this Monday:

Personally, I feel "peaked at" by the transiting planets, since sooo many of these mingle around between the 20th and the 23rd degrees of the signs that they're currently wandering through.

My own natal SUN and MOON are located at 23° (Sun: Cancer, Moon: Sagittarius). So I'll experience these (tight) aspects on Monday:

tr. Mercury (24° Cap): oppos. my Sun, trine my Pluto

tr. Venus (23° Pisces): trine my Sun, square my Moon

tr. Mars (22° Cap): oppos. my Sun

tr. Saturn (21° Virgo): sextile my Sun, trine my Saturn

tr. Uranus (20° Pisces): sextile my Saturn

tr. Neptune (23° Aqua): quincunx my Sun, sextile my Moon

tr. Chiron (20° Auqa): square my Saturn

FACT IS: The early Auqa-degress of Sun, Moon and Jupiter are all squaring my Juno (in 5th), but trining my Uranus (in 10th). And really: I have a lot of professional, life changing decisions to make these days - and just no time for "romance" ,-)
