I'm curious to see if anyone has gone or is going through this transit. I've got it right at 2 degrees right now, and it's supposed to hit next month and go all the way to December 2010.

Just about everything I have read is grossly disturbing about this transit...lots of destruction, a lot of it senseless, death of others, death of your life, death, death, destruction, and if you're lucky transformation because you get to live (if you even want to by the end of the transit) ...I am getting pretty tired of reading this stuff because it's freaking me out. I'm in the Pluto Libra generation, and Pluto is the ruler of my 7th house. In my chart I have Pluto in the 6th.

I'm just wondering what the general consensus is on this transit...how bad is it? How scared should I be?

I'm not sure whether I've had this transit. But I'm generally a huge fan of Pluto, including negative Pluto things that people say will be horrible. Must be my 8th house stellium...Pluto brings power, drama, and intensity...yay Pluto. (Neptune is the planet that sends me running screaming.)

Here's a link to an article about five ways to use Pluto square Pluto positively: http://radiantwoman.wordpress.com/2008/04/26/five-ways-to-use-pluto-square-pluto-positively/

Thanks, Lucia
Yes, I've read that article before and will do so again - it was the only one that seemed positive in comparison to the other atrocities I've read.

Neptune freaks me out too. Too much odd fuzziness lol

I mean doesn't everyone go through a Pluto square Pluto transit? And lots of people live past the age of 50. I wouldn't be so worried about death.

Maybe its the Pluto square Pluto transit that makes people go through a midlife crisis.

Yeah, Amowls...I didn't really mean all the death stuff in the physical sense, just symbolic. But I have heard it's some kind of mid-life crisis.

I've been having that for the past 5 years though

In my experience, the "midlife crisis" is your Uranus opposition around age 39-42. It's possible to have your waxing Neptune square at that time too, along with a Saturn opposition.

MVM, I wouldn't worry too much about the Pluto square. Nothing devastating or truly traumatic happened to me during the square -- just normal "life stuff," like moving, relationship splits, spiritual growth -- this is SchoolRoom Earth after all, it's not meant to be an easy ride
We're here to learn about and challenge ourselves. The Pluto square indicates a time of difficult inner challenges -- however, I believe that people who have done the inner work and advanced thru previous challenges in life are not as "affected" by transits: the transits aren't "needed" in order to push them to change and grow.....

From: http://www.astrologyalive.com/Midlife05.html

Here is a brief description of what we typically encounter:

Pluto square Pluto frequently throws us deep into inner turmoil, thrusting up repressed, forgotten aspects of ourselves. Imagine it as a volcano exploding, or oozing out lava, the source of which is deep in the core of our being. Old dreams, desires, wounds, fears, compulsions and problems surface--anything that is unresolved from our past. Or we find ourselves involved with the intense issues that Pluto symbolizes--power, control, and manipulation (of others, or even ourselves), betrayal, jealousy. The time period is marked with an emotional and psychic intensity and can be merciless toward those who try to ignore these urgent messages from the unconscious. The solution? Look it in the eye!

What helps with Pluto? Deep psychological work. Get into therapy with a counselor who knows about psychic depths, try bodywork (rolfing, bio-energetics, rebirthing), look for experiential workshops and try to express these deep currents through art, journaling, music, or consistent exercise. Seriously watch your dreams and the symbols that emerge. What is your deep self saying now? Are your dreams directing you somewhere?

The point is to try to do something constructive with the energy. Move it. Work at it. Birthing takes effort after all, as the Mothers among us will testify, and just like birthing a baby something new comes from us that is precious, having its origins in the very core of ourselves.

I don't think you'll have a bad time, MVM

MVM i went through this pluto sq. at the same time i had saturn, uranus and neptune in the 12th house (and uranus opp/ neptune square too!) - it was a bit OUCH!! haha!

but i'm here to tell the tale and i wouldn't change a minute of it even though with hindsight i can see how i could have responded better to it!! suffice to say that even though i was pretty unaware whilst dealing with the energies i emerged from that period a new woman and glad of it...

Thanks, Zala and Katatonic!
Yeah, I'm just going to keep doing my thing...I keep reading the transformation stuff and going, But I am always kind of doing that in a way, and most of the time I don't really feel I am 'holding on' to much at all, it's like I'm constantly letting things go and minimizing/simplifying ...
It's going to bring up 7th house stuff for me since that's where my Pluto is, but I'm already divorced and pretty much just in search of authenticity in relationships, so I guess we shall see.

I went through this transit a few years back.
There was alot of change in my life at that time..
It wasn't hell just chaos. My natal pluto is in the 8th house. Nothing strikes me as a stand out event.
But..I was dealing w/ trNeptune in my 1st house squaring my Mars, natal neptune and
MC..Then...my Uranus opposition and lovely trSaturn conj. my natal Sun, Merc venus all at once.

Chaos and change..I felt that if something was going to change my life..well then let it..
you'll be fine

I'm ready to pass out currently, I've got so much work to do and I'm trying to catch up. Feeling sick and sleepy and drained.
I need about another week to recover then I can look at this...I'm sorry, Fist

Hi, I went through tr. Pluto square natal Pluto between 2005 and (mainly) 2006 - so I remember that quite well.

I must say: Yes - it was a rough experience. But, as other people mentioned before, since this is always a more or less "generational aspect" (hitting all people of your birth-season) it surely depends a lot on your chart-house that Pluto is wandering through ... and how your own natal Pluto is aspected generally, in your natal chart.

For me, personally, this Pluto-square-Pluto-transit was the final phase of a large personality-transformation indeed.;-) Pluto had been wandering through the whole of my 1st house for about 6-7 years then - and it was at the end of my 1st house when it squared my natal 10th-house-Pluto. In fact, my whole self-image went through an overhaul during these years - with a remarkable rise in status and success first ... and then a harsh breakdown, that happened just about the time of that square. I felt that I had lost my basis of self and what I wanted to do and how I wanted to "present" myself. So ... the ground beneath my feet was shaking, I suddenly felt out of luck and got disappointed by other people very much (also in my private life.)

I must add, that Pluto was conjunct my Moon during the same phase, though! My Moon is at 23° Sag, my Pluto at 25° Virgo - and trans. Pluto was moving back and forth between the Moon-cj and the Pluto-square for about 1.5 years then.

Okay, I am telling you the truth: It felt cold and frustrating at times, it increased my will and cravings - and at the same denied their fulfillment in a way. I was not very confident and happy.

But but but but but: As always this may sound lame in your ears: In the aftermath of all that (and the aftermath took about another 1.5 years in my case) a whole new scenario came to me. I suddenly and surprisngly entered a love relationship with someone who was different from anybody else I had been with before ... and now, another year later, I am just about to start a new job in another town - something I would never have thought about a couple of years ago.

Yup - Pluto HAS transformed quite a bit of my life. It WAS that way. Well, that's his job, ain' it? ;-)

No need to be afraid, though: All of us are constantly experiencing "nasty" transits - of course you know about that. ;-) With you it will be Pluto soon ... for others it will be Chiron or Saturn. I don't want to "belittle" your feelings - please don't get me wrong. But since this is a long term transit you won't feel the effect constantly - there'll be a lot of more positive transits going on for you at the same time. Just, in retrospect ... you will see the whole picture, I guess. At least that's how it came out for me.

You'll handle that! ;-)
