my friend sent a questionare type thing to the guy she liked and put time of birth on one of the questions, and he wrote back with the time and all the other random questions...i thought it was really clever of her.

Well I thought about that with a survey on myspace because we both have it but he DOES NOT answer those and rarely does he like FWDS and stuff like that on cellphones. Darn it!

oh i usually say: so what's the time of your birth I want to wish you happy birthday when you really turn *their age* they usually laugh and tell me if they say: oh no, i was born at night, I say: really? when exactly, I was born at night too! actually 20 min to 1 am ...and they tell me
OR are you a skylark or a night owl? i heard people that were born at night are usually night owls, is it true for you? and then really?/or weird, I was born at night and I am a night owl...I was born at 20 min to 1 am and you?

Most helpful thread, the other day I faced the same dilemma but the guy in question doesn´t know his birth time and I ended up looking a bit like a witch...

I just casually bring up astrology and skeptical people will be like "O REALLY" and ill be like "WELL TELL ME YO BIRTH TIME AND WE'LL SEE HOW ACCURATE I CAN BE" or they're genuinely interested and tell me their birthtimes anyway.

dont act like its creepy and people wont be creeped out by it

I come out and ask people their birthdates all the time, to find out their Sun Sign.

If youre taking astrology with the person and they seem interested, just tell them the importance of knowing the time of birth as it sets up the rest of the chart and shows what planets fall into which houses etc.

People usually think it's interesting at least and give you their birth time. Even if they don't care to know more.

Straightforward huh!

I say "are you a morning person or night person?" Really:"what time exactly?"

Thanks for the answers....his birthday was in Oct...the one where I could wish him a happy bday on exactly what time he was born would have been good...oh well!

We don't talk all the time so to just text or call and ask would be strange...not doing that!

I'll start talking astrology and mention my birth time then ask for hers. Since I usually do their natal chart right from my phone, they usually give it right away if they know it. One lady called her mother to ask her for it once.

------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚
And yes, i'm a guy!

i agree, lara and amowls. plus that way, you know, if you actually get together they will know you're into astrology and won't have to hide it. but i'm an aquarius so i don't mind looking like a fool or a flake, which helps.

GotGemini how do you do it fro m your phone? Is there a program or do u have a phone with decent resolution?

mine has issues with astro.com and bunch of software for SE i tested turned out to be very much not useful

once, for certain someone's time of birth i turned on winstar when he left me alone with his computer. ofcourse his chart was first on the list

people tend to think you're interested in them when you ask them for the time of birth so i don't like to be straightforward if i don't have to

Men seem to be a little more freaked out by you asking that question than women anyway but yes I agree, I don't want to look like I'm interested in every detail about them right away..lol.

I agree that just asking men straight for their birthtime has NEVER worked so far. They get strangely suspicous.

However, I can confirm that Savanna's morning/night question also worked for me brilliantly. I once desperately wanted to knwo this one guy's birthtime, so I casually menitoned in conversation about a friend doing 'research' in her circle of friends about there being any correlation between birthtime and people being morning or evening persons. I claimed that so far there seemed to be a link. He said, oh really, well in my case I'm sorry to say it doesnt work. I'm an evening person but born in the morning. So I just had to close the deal and asked surprised 'Oh really, what time were you born, was it really early'....and voila he told me when Try it!

Good one Peri!

You could always causually mention that 45% of Americans are born between 9-10 am. What about them (change nationality/ times to suit, I made them up)

You could say " I just found out I was born at 5am, the same time as my sister (adust to suit).... so... what about you?"

Or "Gosh, I had a friend ask me yesterday what time I was born, who knows their birthtime, ...do you?"

Evander, I have an iPhone. The Internet browser on the iPhone is second to none. It looks and behaves just like Safari on a full sized Mac. Only thing I can't view is flash videos.

I can view all of astro.com's features.

- "So how old are you anyway, if I may ask?"
- "I'm 26, and you?"
- "I'm 29... So did you already have your birthday this year or are you turning 27?"
- "My birthday is xxxx so I will be 27 soon."
- "Oh cool, I have a friend with the exact same birthday!!! What time were you born??"

I find many people don't know their birth time though, and that's when I will have to reply "ask your mother!" and some of them get the "what the h...?"-look on their faces ha ha ha :s

Or, this may (often) happen:

- "What exact time were you born?"
- "02.22.... why?"
- "Oh I just wanted to give you some career advice based on astrology since you're trying to make job decisions right now! *smile*"
- "I don't believe in that. At all."

But at least you get the time lol

If they seem open I ask them directly. If not I say the same thing savanna20 says:

I say "are you a morning person or night person?" Really:"what time exactly?"

Tie them to the chair, tickle them and tell them you will only stop IF they give you their birth time
