ohhhh i love & MISS dancing! it's too bad i don't know the signs of the people who i know who are great dancers. 1 is a professional dancer, 2 good strippers and one just a really good dancer who pretends to speak 8 languages. i don't know any of their signs, damn!

i'm a reputed good dancer too, when they write reviews for my band they always mention my crazy dancing. i can dance like a psycho and also sexy to slow or fast or whatever music, but i prefer being chaotic and scaring everyone around me especially when gross guys start trying to sticky dance with me. lol i like dancing with others only if they are also funny and do crazy movements with me. fun is better! i much prefer when someone tells me i'm a "fun" dancer than sexy or good dancer.

i got lots of fire in my chart. mainly in Sagittarius. in Libra i got Pluto and NN... only Chiron in Taurus though.

Ok, these are for fun only! Thought it might be fun to imagine the Mars associated with dancing:

Mars in Aries: Mosh pit, get out of the way or you'll get a dislocated shoulder.

Mars in Taurus: sexy, slow dancing, sometimes involves crawling on the floor like a cat in heat.

Mars in Gemini: Can't decide whether to dance or not.

Mars in Cancer: Dances sideways, at the edges of the dance floor. Will wrap their legs around you while they dance.

Mars in Leo: Busts out in show tunes - JAZZ HANDS!!!! Lipsyncs as they dance to power ballads....get off their stage, dammit!

Mars in Virgo: Criticizes how you dance because they ARE perfect at it. They know every step to every type of dance there is, so it's no use arguing.

Mars in Libra: Doesn't like to dance alone. Has good sense of rhythm and runs screaming from Mars in Aries.

Mars in Scorpio: Will grab you OFF the dance floor and demand you do a private striptease for them, and then they'll do the same if they feel like it. Maybe. Let's see your moves first.

Mars in Sagittarius: Will hop around like a bunny and mix up dance moves, and not really give a damn what anyone thinks, because hey, this is supposed to be fun. What's your problem?

Mars in Capricorn: If forced to dance, expects you to follow their lead, and it doesn't matter whether or not they know how to dance. Just shut up and do as you're told.

Mars in Aquarius: Moon-walks across the dance floor, busts out in weird robotic moves, and grooves out to 80's dance moves. Doesn't really care if it's salsa music playing while they do this.

Mars in Pisces: Magically descends from the ceiling on a swing, draped in flowing chiffon, and then swan-dives into your martini glass.

yea i hate clubs too. luckily, normally i have lots of occasions to dance to the music of my liking at our own concerts or band friends. still it's hard to find the right stuff tho, it's rare that i dance to that "perfect" tunes! and the type of crowd is important too.

Mars in Taurus (singleton), Moon in Pisces.

I wouldn't consider myself a good dancer in a professional sense, but I am able to "let loose" easily wherever there's music, and can move any kind of music. I've got a good sense of rhythm and beat.

Mars in cancer but that description totally doesn't fit me for the reasons that i explained early in this thread.

I definitely dont hang around the sides of the dance floor and im too busy busting my moves to wrap my limbs around anyone, lol. No, i get pulled up on the podium to get the crowd going then i have random ppl coming up to me asking me to teach them how to dance lol. So yeah, dont think what your mars is in has much to do with it. I think its more to do with planets in Libra, Taurus and possibly Leo and Aries, just because i knew a lot of Las Vegas show girl types who were just the most amazing performers when i was stripping

i want to learn to burlesque dance! striptease may be cool too but for my personality the comical movement is more amusing to do, i think.

Node,

good suggestion

in my chart

Terpsichore is in 17'57 Leo in 12th
square Mercury in 18'21 Scorpio in 3rd
square Sun/Neptune midpoint in 18'34 Scorpio

so Terpsichore = Mercury = Sun/Neptune

according to Martha Lang Wescott
from her book, MECHANICS OF THE FUTURE: ASTEROIDS

Terpsichore addresses grace, balance, and coordination. In practice, the Muse of Dance governs not only dance by any physical training, discipline,or specialized activity. It is mobility, grace, and coordination (and the sports that require it.) Runners, joggers and folks into aerobics have Terpsichore prominently placed in their charts. In stressful aspect, Terpsichore shows the use of the body as a point of conflict and as a need to use physical experience to gain objectivity. Think of Terpsichore too as body language and gestures-those non-verbal "signals" - and their incredible ability to convey complex meanings.

Terpsichore's placement is very useful in examining various physical conditions involving the muscular system or affecting balance and coordination. Use it also to develop a characterization of body language or carriage. It is the "body image" - the identification with the "body in motion" as the self - the ego as experienced through the body. Movement is also a resource for the brain, establishing spatial and motion relationships. Any change in the mobility of the body requires the mind to reconstruct (from the new information) its "meaning" of the body in relation to itself and its environment. Thus changes in mobility are never simply physical events.

The impact of movement and carriage is very strong. This can be seen where one imitates the physiology of another - the psychological correlative is immediate; if you walk like a duck...you're a duck! If you hold your head up high (and lift the field of vision and the outloock,) and "whistle a happy tune," sure enough, you feel better. Depressed persons characteristically keep their eyes lowered much of the time; their posture changes; they "move" as though the weight of the world were on their shoulders. Terpsichore is then an asteroid of great importance, having more impact than would, initially, be evident.

In its costume as a Muse, Terpsichore can signal inspiration but look to it chiefly for posture, gestures, the flexor muscles and the ability to move.

This makes sense -
My Terpsichore is square Mercury, and that indicates my difficulties with coordination/balance,being clumsy connected to nervous system issues (Dyspraxia aka Developmental Coordination Disorder, Clumsy Child Syndrome)
it is square my Sun/Neptune midpoint which is the midpoint associated with body weakness, and so that is another indicator for coordination difficulties.
I also believe that the configuration could indicate problems with coordination between right and left brain hemispheres, and that's said to be typical of people with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.

My Terpsichore square Mercury conjunct Sun/Neptune midpoint also indicates that I use my strong visual thinking ability to compensate for my coordination problems.
It also indicates my ultrasensitivity to body language, gestures as well as having a good ability to use body language, gestures to communicate with others which tends to be automatic. I developed my own sign language when I was 2 years old to communicate with others out of frustration of my not being understood because of my unintelligible speech.

I also believe the configuration has to do with using my ultrasensitivity and strong visual thinking abilities to be a very good dancer. It also might indicate my ability as an excellent swimmer.

I also have Terpsichore parallel Midheaven with 8 minutes of arc.

My 10th house ruler Mercury square Terpsichore in 12th and Sun/Neptune midpoint could indicate a career that involves helping others with coordination difficulties.

The combination of my ultrasensitivity and my strong visual thinking ability also help me with massage which definitely requires mobility, grace, and coordination.Of course, massage therapy can be used to help people that have coordination difficulties.

Dancing can help develop coordination. Swimming can too.

Raymond

I have Mars in Aquarius in the 5th House, Venus in Pisces in the 6th, and (since both signs were previously mentioned as being indicators) Libra on the 2nd house cusp (money!), and Mercury in Taurus (8th).

I used to be a very good classical dancer. I was accepted into the BFA programs at NYU, Chapman, and UNC Greensboro, but I ended up not attending, any of them though, after sustaining a serious injury to my right foot and ankle all of a month after being accepted into the last of the three.

Go figure. I guess the universe was trying to tell me something.

I've always been complimented on my dancing skills. I think it has to do with 5th house placements for me... I've got Aries Moon in the 5th trining Mars in Leo and trining Uranus/Jupiter in Sag. Lots of fire. For this reason I'm fairly good at club dancing, hip hop, and salsa dancing. Basically anything quick, firey, and fun... But I'm TERRIBLE at things that are slow, melodic, graceful, and in my opinion, STIFF (ballet, Viennese waltz, etc).

Really, I just flat out love dancing and I really don't care who is watching me. That's a huge part of successful dancing- not being self-conscious. I really just dance for the fun of it, and it's a lovely side effect that other people enjoy my dancing as well. If others thought I was a terrible dancer, I'd still probably dance my heart out.

For professional dancers, it probably would have something to do with Libra and Taurus, but again, it probably does depend on the TYPE of dances that are being done.
