Less than third again that you will have Sun Conjunct Mercury, there being 30 degrees in a sign (the orb of a Conjunction varies between points of view but certainly no more than 10 degree).

Does having the same sign of Sun and Mercury mean anything? Yes, the way you think reinforces the nature of your Sun sign, this being symbolic of your "true, creative self". More powerfully so if you have a conjunction.
