These are very important. Always focus on Asteroids close to Ascendant, Sun and Moon to get their maximum essence, be it for self analysis or in synastry.Asc conj Aphrodite is a case of his ideals for sex appeal in a woman being very high in your external personality. Aphrodite has a very strong essence of Venus. ------------------ Free Articles Sophisticated Readings Samples IP: Logged |

Asteroids are rubbish and should be thrown in the bin. Apart from that, you need a meaning of that asteroid and combine it with your ASC - your personality/looks.IP: Logged |

How were asteroids such as Lust, Valentine, Aphrodite, Cupido, etc ascribed their mythological meaning? Was it based on their behavior/speed of motion/size/makeup, or location in some way?More importantly, how do astrologers know that these particular asteroids convey the types of energy that are ascribed to them in the natal chart and synastry? For example, Lust. Who decided to name that asteroid Lust, and why? I assume they are named by astronomers, not astrologers...and the two disciplines rarely overlap. How has the function of Lust, or any other asteroid, really been tested? Especially with the new ones? IP: Logged |

They write about them, sell books and that is the testing! You could say the same about planets, but for many years they have been tested. They too had a name and meanings attributed. Long time ago and lots of testing. I think the main difference is the limited number of planets compared to HOW MANY ASTEROIDS? quote: There are more than 90,000 numbered asteroids.

The thing with planets is that we've been observing their impact for thousands of years, and the original astronomers were also astrologers. If everyone went wacko when the moon loomed largest in the night sky (as we all still do), it was noted. The order was completely different--the effect of a celestial body was observed for years, and its relationship to human behavior was noted. It was not merely symbolic. It seems to me that some of these asteroids might have properties attributed to them that are not connected to human behavior. Some of the asteroids might be misleadingly named--it might turn out that the asteroid Sadanori is what makes people feel lusty, not Lust. Then again, there are a lot of astrological things I don't understand--like how the Placidus and Equal House system could both be accurate. IP: Logged |

Asteroids work on "Name Frequency" and the "Law of Attraction". Astrologers unfamiliar with these concepts will always misunderstand their impact in a Natal Chart, and will keep groping in the dark to explain extreme human behaviour like that of Gene Simmons, Jenna Jameson or Jim Jones. Sufficient evidence has been provided in this forum as to the working of asteroids in a natal chart. One classic example: www.tamsoft.co.in/pogson.html ------------------ Free Articles Sophisticated Readings Samples IP: Logged |
