do aspects pluto make in the chart to other planets give them an obsessive streak to the planet, and on the theme of the house the planet is in?

In my experience, yes. Pluto is in my 10th house (career), so I'm really obsessed with my career. Pluto aspects a lot of my inner planets:

Mars--> I fight to the bitter end
Venus--> I have intense relationships with others.
Moon--> I feel strongly about everything and can hold a grudge for several years

oh yeah, I think so.

one example: I know someone who has Sun square Pluto and she is obsessive about cleaning, with Pluto in virgo in the 6th house. Everytime Im at her house, shes picking up after me, and cleaning...like really crazy about it.

Well emm... I have pluto square mars. It doesn't give my mars an obsessive streak, but a deep, explosive streak.

Hope that helps. I think pluto isn't just about obsession, but also about explosive natures... and anger

Pluto intensifies,transforms,regenerates whatever it touches.

I don't believe Pluto is sole ruler of those areas. Pluto's fellow kuiper belt objects can be that way too......especially the plutinos that are named after underworld characters. Orcus and Ixion are two dwarf planet candidates that are plutinos, and could be similar to Pluto. They could be similar astrologically as they are definitely similar astronomically. Plutinos and Pluto have 2:3 orbital resonance with Neptune. That means that every time Neptune orbits 3 times around the Sun, Pluto and plutinos orbit twice around the Sun. Orcus and Ixion are only a year apart from Pluto's orbit. So their orbits are quite similar to Pluto's.

I have Sun contraparallels Pluto with 45 minutes of arc,but it also contraparallels Orcus with 1 minute of arc. My Sun conjuncts Ixion with 5 minutes of arc,and my Moon trines Ixion with 2'15 orb.

My life has always been full of intensity, transformation, regeneration

I can be very obsessive. We Dyspraxics tend to be obsessive too. I tend to hyperfocus on things of interest, and that it is said to be typical of ADHD which I do have.

Writesomething,

That sounds exactly like my mom!
she is obsessive about taking care of the household

She has Virgo Imum Coeli with no Planets in the 4th house. She does have dwarf planet, Ceres in Libra in 4th though.

She has Ascendant,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter, and Uranus in Cancer, and they all parallel dwarf planet,Pluto. Her South Lunar Node is in Cancer too.

Orcus is 11 minutes conjunct her Ascendant.

Interesting, Raymond!

I have Ixion exactly conjunct my sun; I mean exactly! With an orb of 0°01' I wonder what that means for me...

This is from Zane Stein:

On May 22, 2001, astronomers discovered a huge body out past Neptune. Initially designated 2001 KX76, it was recently given the minor planet number 28978, and named IXION

Ixion's major contribution to mythology was as the father of the whole Centaur tribe....except for Chiron. We'll continue with Ixion in a moment.

MYTH
Chiron's origin sets him apart from all the other Centaurs. His father was Saturn (Kronus). Saturn was lusting after a sea-nymph named Phylira. There are two versions: in one, the two changed themselves into horses so they could consumate there relationship without being found out by Rhea (Saturn's wife); in the other, she tried to escape her would-be lover by changing herself into a horse to gallup away, but he changed into one also, overtook and raped her. In any event, Chiron was the child of this union. When Chiron was born, his mother was so horrified to see this aberration...half man, half horse, that she totally rejected Chiron; his father, likewise, rejected him. Quite a difficult way to begin life!

But all the rest of the Centaurs trace their lineage back to Ixion, not Saturn. In Greek mythology, was a descendent of Ares (Mars, to the Romans) and was king of the Lapiths (a race) in Thessaly. But not a very honorable king. For example, he married a woman named Dia, daughter of Eioneus....but decided not to pay the previosly agreed upon price for his new bride. Eioneus held, for security on the debt, some horses that belonged to Ixion. Ixion told Eioneus that if he would bring the horses to Thessaly, Eioneus would be paid what he was due...but once there, Eioneus was murdered.

Like Cain in the Bible's Old Testament, Ixion has the distinction of being the first human to shed kindred blood (by killing his father-in-law to avoid making payment for his bride). To the Greeks, murder of a kinsman was a particularly horrible act....and for awhile, no human or god would purify him.

Finally, Zeus (Jupiter) decided to purify Ixion (some say, because Zeus had taken an interest in Dia!) Ixion went to Olympus for the ritual. But while there, Ixion committed an even worse sin...he tried to seduce Zeus' wife, Hera (Juno)! She told her husband, who then decided to verify Ixion's guilt with a test: he took a cloud, shaped it like Hera, and set it where Ixion would find it. Well, Ixion took the bait, and slept with the fake Hera.

When Ixion came down to earth, he bragged to other mortals about sleeping with the queen of the gods. As you can imagine, Zeus was not happy with Ixion, not only for having the audacity to sleep with Hera....but for boasting about it! In punishment, Zeus bound Ixion to a winged or flaming spinning wheel upon which Ixion was forced to continuously repent: "show gratitude to your benefactor." In some stories, the wheel was placed in the sky, but the more common version has this wheel forever turning in the Underworld. The theme here is of sinner on display, not only for guilt of spilling kindered blood, but for the disrespect and betrayal in the guest/host relationship.

From the cloud was born Centaurus, as a result of Ixion's sexual intercourse with the fake Hera. In some stories, Centaurus later descended upon a herd of horses owned by the Magnetes tribe of E. Thessaly, mated with the mares, and begat the Centaurs; in others, all the other Centaurs were also born from this same cloud along with Centaurus.

ASTRONOMY
Before this Trans Neptunian Object (TNO) was ever named, it stirred the imaginations of the astronomical community because was at that time the largest minor planet known....larger even than the previous record holder, Ceres! How large? Over 660 miles in diameter (the Pluto, by comparison, is 1429 miles in diameter.) Some say it is huge enough to be considered, not a minor planet, but a full-fledged planet. It's definitely too big to be ignored, anyway.

Ixion is a Plutino, meaning it has a 3:2 orbital resonance with Neptune. Other Plutinos, discussed elsewhere on this site, include Rhadamanthus and Huya.

When it was discovered, it ws located at 5 Sagittarius 34. It's orbit of 247 years is almost identical in length to the orbit of Pluto (247.8 years), so they may have a lot in common. With orbits so similar, they only very slowly change the zodiacal distance between them.

ASTROLOGY
When Ixion was discovered, it was in close opposition to Saturn (around 4 degrees Gemini at that time), and also opposite the Sun (around 2 degrees Gemini.) It is too soon to even guess what Ixion means, but I'm sure these oppositions will show up as we begin to discover how to interpret his position in zodiac charts.

The Sabian Symbol for the discovery position is "A cricket game is being watched by a colorful crowd." Dane Rudhyar wrote, "Instinctive solidarity building race consciousness." Lynda and Richard Hill write of this degree, "Playing by the rules. Stiff upperlip responses. If negative, difficulty in showing one's true feelings and emotions."

Its interesting that, while none of the Centaurean bodies was discovered in Sagittarius, Ixion (father of Centaurus and the whole Centuar tribe) was found in that centaurean sign.

SYMBOLS
No official astrological symbol has been selected yet for Ixion. I have created a possible symbol for this body, which you can see at the top of this page, representing the cloud from which the many centaurs were born. The second symbol was designed by Sandy Turnbull, who says it is "A combination of the letters "I" and "X" within semi-circles to indicate the wheel of fate." Please feel free to use whichever symbol you are more comfortable with. http://www.zanestein.com/Ixion.htm

This is from Mark Andrew Holmes:

Astrologically, Ixion signifies busy-ness, workaholism, lust to acquire or possess, materialism and its consequences, lack of appreciation or gratitude, to take things for granted, being on a treadmill, being without regrets, being harmed by one's own creations or ingenuity or through something artificial, hubris, karma, rediscovering something simpler, strength through joy, creating trouble, creating change, lust for life, charisma, inventiveness, ingenuity, having one's mistakes or evil take on a life of their own, passing problems down through the generations, "breaking eggs in order to make omelets", "taking the tiger by the tail." http://www.geocities.com/mahtezcatpoc/ixion.html

This is from Philip Sedgwick:

Ixion: Father of the Centaurs, and not a particularly nice fellow. Orbital Period: 246.78 yr.

Positive - understands karmic wheel, gives and uses a second chance, discerning

Negative - lustful, inconsiderate, inclined to repeat errors, learns nothing from experience

Mundane - second efforts and chances, reset buttons, cloud seeding, study of weather, watching clouds, lust or coveting of another's mate

Ceremonial - rain dances, purging fires, seeking master healers

I wasn't going to agree with the workaholic bit, or materialism; I'm anything but materialistic (all I need is my musical instruments, my cd's, my computer and a roof to put it all under )

I agree with all of this, though;

Positive - understands karmic wheel, gives and uses a second chance, discerning

Negative - lustful, inconsiderate, inclined to repeat errors, learns nothing from experience

Mundane - second efforts and chances, reset buttons, cloud seeding, study of weather, watching clouds, lust or coveting of another's mate

... Except for the study of weather, though I know a bit more about it than a lot of people I noticed

(But I always loved watching stars when I was young; I still do actually; clouds just get in my way!)

I don't get it... I have pluto in the 11th house, but I'm not at all obsessive over my friends, or intense...

In fact, I should be happy if I have any friends left because I always forget to call them or contact them again!

I honestly feel as if in my chart, pluto has always been only a dwarf planet. Odd.

Aya-If I change house systems Pluto would be in the 11th house. My 11th house ruler is in Scorpio.

I love my friends dearly but everyone agrees it's hard to get a hold of me lol. XD

Pluto bothers me, I don't feel intense and I don't feel magnetically attractive(must be the Rx planet).

Though I need a establish career and goal my Capricorn Rising enforces it, without one I feel lost x.x;.

Yeah I can def. identify with the obsessiveness (good word in this case) of Pluto. I have it conjunct my Mercury and I get hung up on whatever I study, so I don't have interests...I have full-blown obsessions
And if I'm reading something I like, I will read it over, and over, and over again, I'll just keep going back to it compulsively. I've got Pluto in my 6th with a stellium there, and do spiritual counseling as a job, and I feel it helps get into someone's head and thoughts (rather easily).

I have sun conj pluto 0 deg in 6th house. I am self obsessive and I too am a clean freak! I'm obsessed with clealiness and perfection (so virgo/6th house)! I have an angular mercury in scorpio and my thought patterns are so obsessive, god I have an anguished mind. Venus closely paralell pluto and I am so obsessive, jealous and possesive in relationships it's unreal, I swear if I wasn't as grounded I'd be a stalker!

snap, scrappy! i am another bang-on pluto/sun, but mine is in 7th.

am i obsessive about myself? my relationships? not so much,(well i don't think so anyway!!) but i can BE obsession!

like MVM, if i get interested in something i am like a steamroller with it; this tends to go on for awhile and then one day i look up and it's not even interesting anymore let alone compelling...i have found that with mars in cancer, which is very fluctuating, this obsessive trait helps, because when i'm ON something i really go for it. and then i finish with it (quite plutonian too really, that final cutting-off point).

this can be about a subject, a project, a piece of clothing, whatever. it's more an MO than a character trait though, because i really don't feel particularly obsessed by anything in the long term.
