I read this paragraph and wonder.."If Saturn is in the ninth house AND within 4° or 5° of the midheaven, then it is said to be on the "dark side" of the tenth house, and it influence will be felt in the tenth as well as in the ninth house." I don't quite get it. But this can be said for a large portion of my planets..What could that mean? http://www.myastrologybook.com/planets-in-houses-astrology.htm IP: Logged |

With a chart like yours, i'd use another method like koch maybe. Some charts work better with one system than others...try it out.IP: Logged |

I think they wanted to say that it is in the 9th house technically but still conjunct the angle; I am not sure about the dark side, hmm, probably the planet's influence is hidden, latent less obvious than if it was conj MC in the 10th?IP: Logged |

It just depends on how you read house placements. I have a book on houses and the author suggests that houses are actually the cusp lines itself so any planet close to the cusp line should be read as being in that house. Planets are in between cusp lines are not as strongly attached to any house.IP: Logged |

I once read an interesting explanation on this.Just picture: Your Sun is in the 7th house at about 6 p.m.. Now, let`s say it is 6:15 pm., the Sun has already crossed the 7th house cusp and moved into the 6th house. The Sun has SET. And yet, even though it is after Sunset (DSC-line), the light hasn`t faded away yet (at least in Central Europe it hasn`t), there is still light, even though the Sun is BELOW the horizon. And this astrologer explained that this is one of the reasons why planets shortly before a cusp may be felt in the other house, too; because there light is still lingering there, for a little bit. I really like this analogy. Thanks

if it's within 4-5 like you state of the MC it will be prominent. angular is angular, whether it's in the actual angular house or not. and it will still be felt as an opposition to the IC as well; the effects may not be as "in your face" -- but they will be felt by you and noticed by others. in a certain sense i suppose you could remain "in the dark" about how strongly their prominence affects you. but nothing about it is dark or negative, if that's what is meant by them. [excuse the sad face icon: for some reason different smilies are pre-selected 75% of the time i use this site; can't change 'em.] IP: Logged |
