I just got back from watching the new Star Trek movie - which left my very speechless and blown away.

I'm figuring Kirk is a Fire sign influenced person - just the gut instinct and intuition blew me away.

I could deeply relate to Spock's conflict with emotion and logic and wondered if he had a chart would he have Moon square Mercury?

Cynn

PS. And I'm not even into Star Trek! But WOW...the movie blew me away!

Don't you think Vulcan is the ruler of Virgos after watching Star Trek?

They work so hard to create a Mercurial Logical and Objective analysis. But, they are deeply emotional ppl!

As if we don't have enough of a lame enough description, now we'll drag Vulcans into it as our sign's mascot

Lol, you go Spock, I actually like Spock and I am a Virgo though I don't indentify my sign with him but it would be nice if Virgos had a real ruling planet..

I'm A Gemini riser......so Logic is part of my make-up and my mercury sqaures my moon which equals a conflict between logic and emotion.....sometimes I feel like Spock.

Omg I was thinking about Astrology the entire time I was watching that movie.

Humans = Sag
Vulcans = Aquas
Romulans = Scorpios

the movie was better than i thought it would be. i liked it a lot. as for the aspects... moon square mercury would go to extremes of putting logic over emotion, but also emotion over logic. i think spock would be very aquarian, with maybe some virgo. kirk would be mostly fire and water. his willingness to "reinterpret" rules according to a "subtle" and relative moral position is a water trait. the self-style and risk-taking nature is firey.

Just yesterday I was talking to someone and had to stop myself saying how Libran he is - actually I have no clue what his sign is but he is very like that one.

Does anyone else find it disturbing when astro-thoughts tumble into general conversation or movie watching?

LOL bm. No, not disturbing. I'm a big Star Wars fan and I sit there analysing the character signs all the time. Or watching TV shows and guessing their signs and coming online and finding out if the characters have a given birthdate. Did you know that Goren from Criminal Intent is a Leo? Maybe it is disturbing afterall.

I agree with Aquarius about the Vulcans from Star Trek. There's that curious emotional sense of detachment that views things from outside the self. As an Aqua Mooner, I can relate to that greatly.

I really liked the movie too! (But i'm not a trekkie)
anyways, i was thinking a lot about James Kirks chart. I'm thinking he must have something powerful conjunct his asc since his birth involved his father's death ...maybe uranus or pluto, or both on his asc lol

and i also found this http://www.tarot.com/articles/astrology/star-trek-characters-by-zodiac-sign

Does anyone remember how old Kirk was when he enrolled in Starfleet Academy. Was he 18 years old or a little bit older? If I knew that I could rectify his chart, or at least begin the process.

The Aries Sun energy to lead and boldly go where no man has gone before (Mars fuels that, too.) fuels his Leo Moon's reigning need to gain attention and applause. No one can argue that the Captain is not incredibly dramatic. I truly believe he wouldn't not have been born before the Moon left Cancer, this is definitely a Leo Moon.

That Fire Grand Trine suggests a closed circuit of motivational self-sufficiency, it can block against relationship and is something he strived to overcome his entire life and he succeeded as is evident by his eventually allowing the other members of his crew to help him, he had to learn team work on the job.

His Sun-Mars conjunction = the Aries Point. This suggests his prominence through out the galaxies as a an aggressive explorer.

Uranus in relation to his Sun and probably his Moon may be suggestive of his profession: space, adventure, staking out new territory,

Dang, I gotta go. Continue on without me...

If you go by the "new timeline" of Kirk in the latest Star Trek movie, he was 22 when he entered Starfleet training (2255-2258). He was 25 when he became captain of the Enterprise (2258). And I agree on the Leo moon, GV!
"Either we're going down... or they are. Kirk out." = The fearlessness of Aries Sun and the dramatic steadfastness of Leo Moon working together in trine.

Unfortunately, I can't go by the new time line because the new film has him being born while traveling through space, not on earth.

Actually, I think they followed his original history once he got to earth. I can't remember how I know this, but perhaps it can still be done.

Okay, then you need dates for "Prime Kirk." In that timeline, he entered Starfleet at 17 in 2250. He graduated in 2254 at 21. His son was born in 2261 when he was 28, and two major relationships ended that same year. He took command of the Enterprise in 2265 when he was 32. He retired from Starfleet in 2281, returned to teach there in 2284 and retired for the final time in 2293.

Geo

I wouldn't worry about the alternate timeline because it's really the character's inception that we're concerned with and need for the chart and any alteration follows that.

I'd love to know a birth time for this one, as that potential Moon-Urans trine would be interesting for him. Especially as a grand trine with his Sun-Mars conjunction.
