I don't get it. I hear it's like an obsession or something of the sort, something intense. But I don't understand really what it does, or how it functions.

I don't understand it in the context of synastry, either.
For instance, how would Sun quindecile Moon work? What about Chiron quindecile Chiron? Vesta quindecile Venus?
I had these aspects with someone and after some time I still don't understand what to make of them.

If anyone would be willing to shed some light, especially with personal experiences about this aspect, I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Hi MVM,

Instead of trying to feel the obsession, first think of it in terms of acting with the intensity or strength of a square or opposition and keep the orb tight, no more than 1.5 degrees on either side.

In terms of synastry, just think of it in terms of having a strong connection between the two planets. For example, if someone has Uranus quindecile your Venus you will definitely feel the instant strong and exciting attraction.

As for the obsessive nature connected to the quindecile as a definition of how it's energy works, I haven't felt that yet either and I have 5 quindeciles in my own chart. The thing is, 2 of them include Pluto which has an obsessive nature already so I can't quite explain it, I'm not sure how I experience the obsession part.

Maybe someone else can explain the obsession. I use quindecile's regularly when I do consultations and read charts. It's amazing to see how they work in transits, progressions and Solar Arcs.

Astrologer Ricky Reeves has written an excellent book called "Quindecile: The Astrology & Psychology of Obsession"

You can read some of it in Google Books.

Thanks GeoC
I'll take a look at that book and also try and research it more fully.
I haven't seen any quindeciles of personal planets in my own chart...sooo, I have no idea.

"The overall manner in which a quindecile may be expressed is determined by the specific nature of the individual planets and angles that are involved. We must take into account the focus and importance of those particular planets and angles, in addition to other aspectual relationships they may be making, and how this all fits in the horoscope as a whole.

Planets in quindecile aspect to the angles show themselves outwardly to others. The characteristics of these particular planets are "on display" for the world to see.

Personal planets in quindecile aspect to other planets are incorporated more into the general personality. The characteristics of each planetary "leg" are blended into a singular dynamic through which the obsessive-compulsive tendencies are channeled.

When the personal planets are in quindecile aspect to societal planets, this indicates an oppurtunity to take a position or stand within the defining of trends and fashions of society at that particular time.

When outer planets are in quindecile aspect to other outer planets, this is part of the evolutionary cycle of our societies and humankind in general. People born at these times may be part of this process."

This is from the book: The Quindecile

Geo (or anyone) ~

What would you think about a Sun (he) - Moon (she) quindecile with 20" of arc, would this be a mutual 'obsession'??

Is the quindecile 24 degrees or 15 or what? I am very confused. I get it here at 24 degrees. I think.
