Not a chance. Too many planets that move round like a slug and hardly move. You can use the solar arcs where each planet transits 1 degree per year. The Sun moves the same pace as the progressed Sun, which leaves the Moon as the only difference due to the other planets that hardly move.

If you're using midpoint composites, no. Davison, maybe. I haven't done a lot of research on this.

Why not the midpoint composites? Oh well, there are different systems, and I think that we can gather useful information in each, depending on our preferences and capacities.

Well, the progressed composite can tell the potential energies flowing in the relationship in the moment, but this doesn't mean that the energies represented on the chart are always present or noticeable.

Personally, I find the progressed composites useful to give some idea about the current state of the relationship.

Well a midpoint composite isn't a chart based on a real date and time. It's just the midpoints of each person. So like crazy things happen that don't normally happen in natal charts like Mercury squaring the Sun and so forth. That's why I'm wary of progressing it or reading transits from it. I'd rather use Davison.

I think that although the Davison chart is based on a real time and date, a time and date that is in the middle of two person's time and date doesn't really feel that real. Yet although the midpoint composite chart isn't based on any real time and date, it is based on the points where two person's energies meets, which feels more real.

Well, one can say that a chart based on the hypothetical midpoints is simply hypothetical, but then wouldn't the concept of the Davison chart also be hypothetical? Then again, the whole astrology is actually a system of symbolism based on hypothetical concepts - we humans are the ones putting meanings and relations between the planets/stars and us.

But well, everyone has their own opinions and ways of interpreting the symbolism of astrology and any system related to it. What's important is that we can use it to help us achieve a better understanding.

By the way, is it really possible for a midpoint composite chart to have Sun square Mercury?

Sun and Mercury are never more than 28 degrees apart (according to cafeastrology.com), so that it seems impossible for a composite chart to ever have such aspect.

These are phenomenally important BUT only to those who are self aware. Even a one degree change will modify the Sabian Symbol and take the relationship onto a new level. The Moon moves quickly enough to effect emotional changes in the relationship. I would also pay close attention to Venus, to check if the Pr Comp Venus make a precise angle with the Natal Saturn of either partner. For very highly self aware partners, I would even check the Progressed Composite Draconic Chart to find something missing in the tropical charts.
