In the synastry between me and my bf, my planets doesn't have any aspect to his Moon. And to his Venus, there are only opposition with my Sun, quincunx with my Mars, wide trine with my Jupiter, square with my Neptune quintile to my Uranus and semi-sextile to my Pluto. Yet we're still together, for 3 years and almost half.

Although astrology might help understanding our feelings through the symbolism, I don't really think that we can use it to determine how each other truly feels.

But well, if you want to seek some astrological compatibility insights, I guess that you can look at the asteroids, composite chart and draconic synastry too. Aspects between the nodes and the angles can be meaningful too.

Ruler of 7th and 5th house could be aspected, too.

Yes, I mean major aspects. Or actually what if there are no aspects at all? The Moon and Venus are supposed to be what a man is attracted to and looks for in a woman.

It could be possible: you could look to aspects to the depositer of the moon and venus, and aspects to the rulers of the IC, 5th house , and 7th. Even so, astrology doesn't dictate free will as we all know.

I think we should stop looking at just men for stuff like this. Being a woman, I find that when people aspect my Sun and Mars it's generally more of a friendship/sex thing rather than a DEEP connection (this is if none of their planets are in my water houses, or my vertex and nodes aren't aspected either). When they hit my Moon and Venus it's highly emotional, for me anyway.

Also you can have crappy synastry but a stellar composite chart. I find that Composites over rule synastry after the relationship has been established (romantic or otherwise).

I am with Amowls on stopping to differentiate between man and woman so much.

For everyone Moon and Venus are highly emotional planets, and the ruler of 7th house relates to relationships for all of us, too.

I don`t think the composite overrules the synastry though.
Both are important.

Yes, the Man being moon/venus attracted and the woman being Sun/mars attracted is written about so much in the books. Personally, I have sun/Gemini and mars/Taurus, but also Moon/Gemini and Venus/Taurus but I've never been attracted to Taurus men or Gemini men.

Unfortunately, I do find myself involved wtih Sagittarian-esque men over and over. (to my demise!) I don't understand it cause it's neither my 7th house or 5th house ruler or cusp.

But in my past relationships, all the men who loved me dearly had moon/venus major aspects to my personal planets, but the one man who didn't love me (who I loved him dearly) had little to no major aspects from his moon/venus to my personal planets.)

Yeah, I think the sun/mars thing has to be re-written for women...it may be useful for attraction but they don't seem like *deeper* planets. I would say the same thing for venus, actually.

Definitely!

There are so many different kinds of romantic, friendly, karmic, familial, creative, and sexual connections that two people can have, and I think "love" can be a part of many different kinds of connections.

As for the man/woman thing, don't forget that gender and sexuality fall on a spectrum--people are gay, straight, bisexual, or various mixes in between (such as identifying as straight for 47 years, then suddenly falling in love with one particular same-sex person)...a surprising percentage of people do not fall into the biological category "male" or "female", and a much larger percentage of us than that manifest the sex we were born with in a wide, wide, WIDE variety of ways.

To get a feel for how someone will experience aspects in synastry, I look first to see how "masculine" or "feminine" that person's natal chart is...also, a person whose Jupiter is wildly important in his natal (as just one example) might be more allured/excited by lots of Jupiter aspects/9th house overlays in synastry than a person whose natal is overwhelmingly Plutonian or Mars-centered, say.

It's really partly intuitive and creative--in some natals, Saturn represents the father figure, in others, Mars does, or the Sun. You have to figure it out by putting it all together.

Side note--GemGemGem, check out your draconic chart. I keep finding them more spot on than tropical natal for showing which signs we're attracted to over and over.

Although, just a Gem sun is enough make you a Sag junkie.

Did you have any of the following, though:
-Sun-Saturn conjunction or square
-Snug or double whammy Saturn-Vertex-Chiron stuff
-Tricky Neptune contacts?

It may've been less about the contacts you didn't have and more about the contacts you did.
