I've been reading the story about Adonis, Aphrodite and Persephone (in wiki and a few other places on the internet lol), and I've noticed that both Aphrodite and Persephone had strong feelings for Adonis, yet there aren't many info about how Adonis felt for them. Well, I don't know much about mythology, so I want to ask you guys, does Adonis also have strong feelings for them too?

I'm specially curious coz I've been looking at them in the synastry charts, so I want to know if any of the aspects between these three asteroids would only indicate one-way love or unrequited love (I've heard about this somewhere in this forum >_< can't remember where thought).

But also, wasn't Adonis' partner Innanen? I didn't read about their story yet thought. So how should I see all these asteroids in terms of synastry aspects?

But well, I want to understand how the stories really are, so can anyone shed some light? X3

Adonis is part of two mythologies:
AS Adonis-Tammuz he belongs to Inanna and is part of the sumerian mythology.

But there is the Greco-Roman counterpart, too.

The story is that both, Aphrodite and Persephone, were completely enthralled with Adonis and had a fight about him.
Zeus decided that Adonis had to spend one third of the year with Aphrodite, one third with Persephone and with the third part of the year Adonis could do whatever he wanted.
He ALWAYS spent his third part with Aphrodite, and they had a very sensual love affair.

I think, Aphrodite may have been the first to feel the ultra strong attraction, but Adonis then reciprocrated it full force. As for Persephone, I think he may have liked her, but was not in love with her as much as with Aphrodite.
So an aspect between Persephone and Adonis could even point towards unrequited feelings I guess.

Thank you for your clarification, DD. ^_^
Actually, there are slightly different versions of this story around that it seems a bit confusing. But I couldn't find anything relevant about Adonis' feelings that made me wonder about it.

The only story I know is that Aphrodite sent Adonis to Persephone, when he was a boy, so Persephone would look after him, and once he was grown up, both goddesses were crazy for him.

What other version do you know?

Yeah, this version is the same in all the versions I've read. ^_^ One of the differences I can remember was who was in charge to decide how would the turns of Adonis be divided with either Goddesses, and some other small details I can't remember well. But well, for example, this link I've just found has a version that is really different (with Eros being indirectly responsible for Aphrodite falling in love with Adonis):
http://www.loggia.com/myth/adonis.html

In this link, there are just some small different details, compared to the "original" story:

Yes, ERos was involved in almost all cases of falling in love.

I think the important thing in that myth is that Adonis chose to spend his "free time" with Aphrodite. That sais something about his feelings, doesn`t it?

Yeah, I have been reading it with my class. The metamorphoses, not the one about Adonis though.

On this page there is a brief description of a poem written by shakespeare, based on Ovid's metamorphosis and called Venus and Adonis.

The entire poem is here
