The above posts seem more like generalizations.

I think a mars in virgo does not automatically mean that the guy is not interested in sex.

I have mars in Libra(in 6th house) and have been with so-called "sexual placements" ,like mars in scorpio and mars in Taurus, only to be dissappointed with their lack of imagination ( I am basing this on my personal experiences ofcourse and it is in no way a reflection on all Mars Scorpions and Mars Taureans.I am sure there are many of you whom are freaks ).

Come to think of it, are there not other areas that mars rules besides sex? But anyway, since we are dealing specifically with mars "ruling" this aspect of life, it is safe to assume the following about the placement(in my opinion):

An "earthy" person when it comes to "sex".
This means that he may prefer method, consistancy, predictability to spontaneity.

This could also mean that he'll feel most virile and sexual when he has achieved something (either work-wise or other) as earth people are "outcome" focused.Or when he feels that he "deserves" it.

He may prefer getting into a habitual pattern when it comes to sex and then when he is comfortable, change the rules and experiment a bit more with his sexuality(this is when the mutable quality comes in, I think).

I think you should look at this placement in context of the individual involved. What is his attitude towards sex? Not many people are comfortable with sex.

Also, I don't know many people who would agree with the sentiment of being a "cold-fish" in bed and so I find it disheartening that many sites often place certain people in the "hot" category and others in the "not so hot".

Do not conclude his nature based on what you read but what you "experience".

Rather use this analysis as cautionary analysis that could have been based on one individual with a similar placement. If he contradicts everything said above, don't be suprised.I often contradict many things written about my placement.

Sweeter than pie, can u develop your question? I mean why do u ask this?

My mars is in virgo, sex is an aspect of life. I dont see what u mean so i cant really develop my answer. Do u care to explain your question?

Edit... Watch my virgoesque reply!

This is true, but you can also BE the accomplishment if ya play your cards right. In other words, Mars in Virgo can feel insecure without reassurance of your opinion of him/her. He's a constant observer of his own performance...in sex and everything else. It's hard for him to turn off the critic in his head and lose himself in the experience. The best way to do that is for your "praise" to be louder than his (or her) "critic."

My ex has Mars in Virgo and so do I. We always wanted to have sex!

quote:
"This could also mean that he'll feel most virile and sexual when he has achieved something (either work-wise or other) as earth people are "outcome" focused.Or when he feels that he "deserves" it."

No, he seemed to feel virile and sexual:
-when things were going really well
-when things weren't going really well
-if it was nighttime
-if it was morning
-if I wore a dress that day
-if he caught a glimpse of me nude or in underwear
-if one or the other of us was going to take a shower
-after any kind of romantic or exciting night out
-after a fight
-after a disappointing night out
etc, etc, etc, etc

I think sometimes we too hastily treat a Mars or Venus sign as if it had the importance of a Sun Sign...you have to look at the Mars in conjunction with Sun, Moon, Rising, and I personally think Mars and Venus are equally important for both men and women. If we start getting cookbook-y about "Mars in Virgo", we start to think about the guy as Virgoan or earthy, even if we're talking about a Libra Sun, Leo Venus, Scorpio Rising, 8th House Moon guy.

quote:
He's a constant observer of his own performance...in sex and everything else. It's hard for him to turn off the critic in his head and lose himself in the experience.

This is not true of my ex. I feel like he showed his Leo Venus or Libra Sun more in sexual situations. True of me, though. I get worried about my attractiveness or performance.

Why Mars in Virgo, you ask? What is the reason behind it?

Virgo is a filthy sign in the bedroom and could keep up with anyone. Apparently. All earth sign are said to be like that.

Slightly off topic, I have same natal chart as my brother and sister. Both others are sexually active, but they never talk about it, always keep it hidden.

I am not, unless you include self sex

He is a dirty **** and my sister...I never know. As she never told me, I guess she is still a virgin, maybe not.

Im guessing we all have similar drives, with the same chart. Sure, there will be an interest in sex for all us, yet with me, the interest has not been turned into action (which speaks louder than words)

What Im trying to say is: Almost all have an interest in sex, even me, but its hard to find that in a natal somewhere. Maybe someone who has devoted their life to no sex would be a better guide for finding that.

Do you mean having an interest in sex or having lots of sex? (action or thought)

lmao, bm nailed it!

Sweeter - If you posted the whole chart or gave more details we'd be able to get a better sense of his whole personality.

Johnny Depp and Eddie Vedder have their Mars in Virgo.

If Mars is how we use our energy, then I'd say Mars in Virgo is discerning sexually. When there's no one who meets their standards, they abstain, devoting all their energy to other areas of life. (The rest of their chart will help illuminate what their standards are: real love? Someone rich? A master? )

I speak about it as if all Mars in Virgo are like that, when all I can say for sure is I'm like that. Something tells me a 16 year old male with Mars in Virgo wouldn't be quite so picky. They may be more picky than 16 year old males of other Mars signs, though.

Since it's mutable, I think a Virgo Mars also contributes to experimentalism. Virgo is an earthy scientist. Its goal is obvious, and to get there, a Virgo Mars is naturally inclined to discovering and developing new techniques and scenarios.

definitely can't relate to "no interest in sex".

my mars is in the 2nd, and aspects neptune/pluto/saturn.

i think being text booky is the wrong way to go about it, i think its aspects in natal charts that tell how interested or uninterested some one is in sex, not the sign of the mars.

From other people I know who have Virgo Venus or Mars, they can be some of the most sexually promiscuous people, because they seem to regard it almost like a service or slightly mechanical, but Virgo is a feminine sign so not the best match for Mars.

coffee are you a TRIPLET???

mars in virgo - virgo is about service, perfection, earthy, natural, discriminating, yada, yada...

but i don't think there is any such thing as a mars placement that is "not interested in sex"! or any other placement for that matter...

True that katatonic - and if there was such a placement, then surely it would have to be an air mars (less rooted in physicality is my angle here) Gemini or Aqua....

Sex seems to be pretty integral to human nature.

I'd imagine Virgo mars would have a pretty healthy sex drive, the only hindrance to it could be excessive self-criticism and perhaps
a touch of the 'need just the right conditions to flare up and proceed' being present.

Saying someone is not interested in sex is pretty much the same as claiming they don't like eating, or sleeping. Sex is such a primal and instinctual element of human beings, not matter how ppl try to satisfy/repress it, it's always there or will come back (like hunger and thirst)

I just think mars in virgo has a different way of showing that sexual side. My bf is mars virgo and we have AMAZING sex. In my case, my mars is conjunct his venus. So i'm incline to think that sexual chemistry has a lot to do with synastry. If you guys don't click, he could be a mars in aries, and you could still have awful sex.

You have just answered your own question Katatonic. Obviously, to be triplets and have the same chart, we were born at the same time.

2 things to ponder here.

1) Do we all have the same chart?
Yes. All born at the same time, we are all Aquarius rising.

2) How to look at siblings in our natals?
My sister was first, then idiot brother and then Me. All within a minute apparently.
My Gran, Dad, and Mum all confirm we were born at that time, the birth certificate too.

Take my sisters natal, does she look at 3rd house to indicate both of us? Maybe.
I guess that is fine, yet the other option is to to look at her 3rd to indicate her 1st sibling, and then move 3 on from 3rd to indicate sibling of her sibling (3rd from 3rd = 5th)

Not only can we look at each natal and take Aqua rising as each ASC for us, we can also look at 3rd house (and maybe 5th) to show more about siblings as individuals.

It does get confusing, when you have my sisters natal, then 3rd representing my brother and 5th representing me.....in her natal. Then do the same with my brother. He would be his 1st, sister would be his 3rd, and I would be his 5th. You move onto my natal, and you can work out who is where.

Confusing, yet an area that needs more exploring.

Nothing about Mars in Virgo apologies. Any more questons?
