Do you think there is a correlation between an unusual voice and natal chart aspects? What kind of aspects do think would suggest someone has an unusual speech pattern? I tried looking at Mercury and Uranus in the charts of celebrities with unusual voices... see what you think of them.Weird Voice #1 - Michael Emerson
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTHCWfP4q_8
Voice characteristics: Slow and rhythmic, methodical speech with engaging tonal inflections.
Chart: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/green_arrowXblack_canary/astro_2gw_34_me79 12519824.gif
Unfortunately I don't have a birth time, but first thing I notice is Mercury on the cusp of Virgo/Libra sextile Uranus and square Mars. Could this be a source?
Weird Voice #2 - Daniel Johnston
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_RbSAwMa3U
Voice Characteristics: Unusually high pitch, almost stunted speech, lacking proper rhythm but somehow it works out for him in his music.
Chart: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/green_arrowXblack_canary/astro_2 gw_44_daniel_johnston8008012.gif
Also without a birth time. Mercury in Aquarius trine Neptune. Hm... both Michael Emerson and Daniel Johnston have very few aspects to their Mercury, and Uranus and Mars is involved in both of them (Emerson a square, Johnston sesquiquadrate).
Weird Voice #3 - Jodi Shilling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH5YP05tn68
Voice Characteristics: Very high pitch and child-like, Jodi says her voice just never changed when she grew up.
Chart: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/green_arrowXblack_canary/astro_2gw_45_j_s82 281752.gif
Wow this is a bit different... Jodi has many aspects to Mercury. But again it's in Aquarius like Daniel (another child-like voice?), square Uranus, and Mars is again involved in a conjunction.
Weird Voice #4 - Fran Drescher
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkp7wsJc8MI
Voice Characteristics from Wikipedia: Drescher's voice is a combination of a high nasal pitch... In her autobiography, Drescher discussed the fact that this is basically her real voice — even though it is played up a little on-camera — and discusses the many voice lessons she had to take to overcome it for movie auditions, only to have it, and her machine-gun titter, end up being her trademark."
Chart: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee3/green_arrowXblack_canary/astro_2 gw_46_fran_drescher849501310.gif
Okay, now Fran is almost a completely different. She does have very little Mercury aspects, save a trine from Venus is Scorpio. But no Uranus or Mars are involved (unless you want to count a square to her Venus from Uranus and that Mars rules Scorpio).
Another interesting note could be that her Mercury is in Virgo, the same as Micheal Emerson, and Mercury both rules Virgo and is exalted in the sign. Along with the little aspects (ways to divert the Mercury energy), that could mean their communications are very pronounced.
So from these birth-time-less charts, the main similarities in Mercury aspects are a connection to Uranus through sign or aspect, a connection to Mars, and either having very much or very little aspects to other planets, emphasizing Mercury issues.
Someone I know personally has an unusually feminine voice even though he is heterosexual. I looked at his chart and he has Sun conjunct Venus in Scorpio and Mercury conjunct Mars square Moon in Aquarius.
Have any other charts you'd like to share? Know anyone with an unusual voice or have one yourself? What do think about voices and aspects?
