Is Venusia the same as Aphrodite?I was using Lara's hand asteroid list thread and I looked up my Venusia, and I have a SEXY 8th house: Mercury-Sun-Aphrodite-Adonis-Venusia-Mars. But I'm wondering whether Venusia is another name for Venus-Aphrodite, or it means something else? IP: Logged |

My guess is that Venusia relates to the Venusian Arts.IP: Logged |

That IS very sexy Lucia23! Mine is in Capi in 10th house, along with Eros. I suppose then that could mean that I could make a good living from the venusian arts? With Mars in Taurus - makes for a very Earthly lover, I guess. IP: Logged |

Thank you, PA ...I have been worrying about my sex appeal lately, but now that I see these asteroids in my 8th...I like the idea of adding the Venusian Arts to my 8th...Your placement seems like it would make you present yourself in a classy, elegant, beautiful way in your career situations. Looks to me like you can just strut your stuff knowing that it oozes from you. Let it glow - all woman - from inside out. It's the aura that men notice, I think, more than any sexual clothing. Very very good call on mine - that is how I dress. IP: Logged |

Yes! That is such an apt description of me up until about age 31...and then I got rejected for the first time. My confidence is shaken. Men still notice my aura, but it's not the men I want. It's mostly that I could always TELL when someone was attracted, until Pisces Moon Man (the rejector), who I was sure was wildly smitten, but he wasn't. So now I question EVERYTHING that way and I'm getting more and more shy. Maybe a study of the Venusian Arts would help . Right on on how I (still) dress. I like to wear my clothes, not the other way around. IP: Logged |

according to wikipedia: quote: Venusia was supposedly one of many cities said to be founded by the Greek hero Diomedes after the Trojan War. He dedicated Venusia to the goddess Aphrodite, also known as Venus, to appease her after the Trojans were defeated. It was taken by the Romans after the Third Samnite War of 291 BC, and became a colony at once. No fewer than 20,000 men were sent there, owing to its military importance. Throughout the Hannibalic wars it remained faithful to Rome, and had a further contingent of colonists sent in 200 BC to replace its losses in war. In 190 BC the Appian way was extended to the town. Some coins of Venusia of this period exist. It took part in the Social War, and was recaptured by Quintus Metellus Pius; it then became a municipium, but in 43 BC its territory was assigned to the veterans of the triumvirs, and it became a colony once more. Horace was born here in 65 BC. It remained an important place under the Empire as a station on the Via Appia, though Theodor Mommsen's description of it as having branch roads to Equus Tuticus and Potentia.

In my opinion, Venusia relates to pleasure. So it relates to art, yesIP: Logged |
