What does the position of the fixed stars in your natal chart mean?

My Sun is widely conjunct Regulus. My mother's Sun is conjunct Algol at 1 degree. My crush has Sirius on his MC (and Sirius is conjunct my Moon-Saturn).

EDITED: Just read Glaucus's post in another thread that astrologers usually use a 1 degree orb for fixed stars...so I wouldn;t feel that Sun-Regulus.

Very curious about fixed star's meanings and your experiences with them, though.

What do all of these mean? How do they influence the natal chart?

They just add an extra flavor to the planet that they conjunct. It makes the sign of the fixed star even more significant in a chart. I guess o.o Definitely not an expert on fixed stars. Very intrigued by them though.

well

astrologers used fixed stars before the outer planets were discovered. Their interpretatations were a bit on the extreme, fatalistic side. They were like the outerplanets in a way.

as we become more humanistic, psychological in Astrology, many astrologers don't use the fixed stars. They are used more by astrologers that are into traditional, classical astrology.

Bernadette Brady uses a totally different fixed star system that is called parans

a star paran

a star and a planet are on an angle on the day of birth

the heliacal rising and the heliacal setting stars are used too.

Bernadette Brady doesn't believe in using star ecliptic longitude projections like Diana Rosenberg uses.

she also doesn't use the term, conjunction when it comes to conjunctions with ecliptic longitude projections because many of the stars aren't on the ecliptic, and so aren't in true conjunctions to the planets, angles which are on the ecliptic.

there are stars that are near the ecliptic like Aldebaran,Regulus,Antares, Ancha, and others

stars like Fomalhaut,Sirius, Betelgeuse are far from the ecliptic

I like the paran system, and so I got the Starlight program. It shows the star parans and does actual skymaps...shows what constellations the planets, angles are in.

Bernadette Brady believes that the myths behind the stars and constellations are essential into finding the meaning of the stars, constellation influences.
She uses them in a psychological way.
However, if a star is in a certain phase, it can be interpreting in an extreme, black and white way.

there are astrologers that do believe that it doesn't matter if a star is on the ecliptic or not. Diana Rosenberg definitely doesn't believe that it doesn't matter. Reinhold Ebertin didn't see any difference either.

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.

In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.

“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”

Very interesting!

Alia, I'm having so much fun with that link--not just love affairs, but all the other lists, fashion, travel! Why am I sooo drawn to and fascinated by fatalistic interpretations?

I have:
Voyages, Sea Voyages and a Love of Travel (so far, true!), Favorable for Home (glad my Saturn at 13 Cancer is good for something, lol), Eminence in Art (fine if this includes writing), Inspired in Artistic Creations, Lawyers (but not Good Lawyer, heh), Military (or Sports), High Position Through Friends (more good stuff with Saturn), Educational Work, Brilliant Mind...I wonder what they mean by "constellation?" I'm skipping those.

mine is rather extravagant, and once IQ gave me a brief explanation involving the past life Karma and stuff that my little brain could not fully grasp...

my AC conjunct Antares (Western Royal Star)
my DC conjunct Aldebaran (Eastern Royal Star)
my Saturn conjunct Regulus (Northern Royal Star)
my Sun conjunct Galactic Centre

there are some others but they appear to be minor.

and, i just found another one... my POF is on "Own Worst Enemy"! - An unfortunate degree. No freedom to act on one's own behalf WTF

that makes me think, not fixed star but in the past i also found my AC was at the "Point of Bad Luck", and to my surprise my Virgo friend ALSO have his AC on the "Point of Bad Luck" (i just find this incredible coincident amusing. i don't believe it tho). asteroid Lucifer is also conjunct my AC.

i use this as my reference http://www.astrologycom.com/fixedstars.html

The Good/Exciting:
Spica and Arcturus conjunct Moon in the 9th.
Albireo conjunct AC
North Asellus conjunct Sun in the 7th
Merga conjunct Pluto in the 9th

The Iffy:
Zosma conjunct Saturn – goes perfectly with Saturn: “Keen intellect, depression, fearful, unhappy, feels restricted, loss in childhood; egotism; prophetic ability (with Coxa: "Kua, the Oracle")” but, yikes.

The Freakin’ Scary:
Alpha Serpentis conjunct MC
Sabik conjunct Neptune in the 11th (I’ve always wondered why I’ve always had crappy friends!)

i read somewhere before that with fixed stars, only big and bright ones are really considered effective, and the rest are rather trivial. i don't think you have to worry about aspects from minor stars.

Hi,

I know this is quite an old topic, but nevertheless very interesting.

I was wondering could anyone explain the meaning of POF conjunct fixed star Sirius in natal chart?

And does fixed stars bear any significance in natal charts at all?
