I am right handed, but it's not that cut and dry.I didn't have a natural development of right hand over left hand. In my development years, it was like I didn't know which hand to use. When I was a little kid, I had poor motor skills that include not only gross motor motor skills but also fine motor skills. I got therapy for my fine motor skills, and so I was trained to use my hands. It's possible that I am right handed because the therapist trained me to be be that way. If the therapist concentrated on my left hand instead, I could have been left handed. If the therapist concentrated on both of my hands, I could have been ambidextrous. I have also been told that I write like a left handed person when I write with my right hand.
I have some ability to write with my left hand too....especially if I write cursive. I open bottles, cans, and jars with my left hand while I use my right hand to hold the containers. I am both left eye and left ear dominant, and so I have what people call "cross-dominant or "mixed-dominance.
I also wear a watch on my right wrist like lefthanded people usually do. I think that's because of my left eye dominance. I am predominantly right hemisphere in my thinking as I do think mainly in pictures instead of words. I visualize things in my mind's eye nonstop. I had to get language therapy. If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to process language in any area efficiently. I am not a sequential processor either. I am the disorganized type.
so I definitely don't fit the stereotypes of the right handed person being "leftbrained" I also don't have instinctive knowledge of left and right. I tend to get them mixed up. my mother told me that she is the same way except for the fine motor skill problems/therapy and language issues. She doesn't have speech problems like me. so the brain wiring is obviously genetic. my indicators are definitely my Neptune in 3rd, Mercury parallel Neptune, and my Mercury conjunct Sun/Neptune midpoint. I also have Pallas oppose Neptune. My Mars square Mercury/Neptune midpoint and my Neptune semisquare Mercury/Ascendant midpoint are minor factors. My Mercury in Scorpio is even in the Pisces decanate.
I even have an almost exact conjunction of Moon and the asteroid,Hermes in Pisces in 6th square Neptune. Raymond

glaucus your story makes perfect sensein the old days they used to force kids to write with the right hand. so i can see how their focus on your right made you a righty. often times people like this become ambidextral.

"glaucus your story makes perfect sensein the old days they used to force kids to write with the right hand.: Yeah..my maternal uncle Eddie is left handed, and my maternal grandfather was left handed. I was in a different situation. Like I said before, I had poor fine motor skills connected to the Dyspraxia. I had to get therapy to correct those issues. Therefore, it was bit complexed. I would not be able to use my hands well if it wasn't for the fine motor skills therapy.
I might have a natural wiring for being ambidextrous and not right handed nor left handed.
These issues that I talked about are actually well-known early warning signs of Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Having a left handed family member is common. Many are ambidextrous.

Dyspraxia tends to be common with left handed people. I tend to mix up numbers myself sometimes.I'm left handed. I have Mercury retrograde in accidental detriment in the 9th and exalted in Aquarius. Lol. My father is left handed. He has Mercury dignified in Gemini but in accidental fall in the 5th. Apparently it might be a birth defect, but whatevs.

Cynn, I'm Gem Rising and I am not ambidextrous. My friend Whitney is a Gem Sun and he writes with his right hand and draws with his left (when he took his first drawing class when he was little, he broke his right hand so he had to learn to draw with his left). IP: Logged |

my maternal uncle Eddie has Mercury in Virgo trine Saturn. that doesn't look like an indicator for his being lefthanded. He does have Neptune in 3rd like me. He did have speech problems and was in special education for a little bit just like me. my maternal grandfather had Mercury retrograde in Gemini in 8th conjunct Sun in Cancer in 8th. my mother has minor grand trine of Sun in Gemini in 12th,Neptune in Libra in 5th, Pluto in Leo in 3rd. She has Mercury-Venus-Uranus in Cancer trine Moon in Scorpio in 5th,square Neptune. She also has Mercury parallel Sun,Venus,Jupiter,Uranus,Pluto, and Ascendant. I don't really think that you can find definite indicators for lefthandedness and righthandedness.
the indicators that people might think are lefthandedness could easily be rightbrained indicators. The indicators that people might think are righthanded could easily be leftbrained indicators. according to Rex E. Bill's rulership book:
dexterity is Mercury,Gemini,3rd house (Venus,Uranus) left side of the body,as a whole is (Moon) right side of the body, as a whole is (Sun) Raymond ------------------ “It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status. I was born left-handed...in school, made to write with my right hand.I still write right-handed, but always brush my teeth and peel an orange with my left...certain other things I also do left-handed that require fine-motor skills like painting or pick up something with tweezers. I know a person who is left handed, but was forced to learn to write with his right hand. As a result, he can write with both... but when he writes with his left, it is MIRRORED. I had him write with his right hand and then his left the same sentence, and they were exactly the same but opposite. Then he wrote with both hands, like butterfly wings spreading out, the same word mirrored each other. Naturally, he likes to write with his left, and before I got to know him he sent a note down with a birthday gift to my roommate and the note was written backwards. We had to look in a mirror to read it. It really creeped us out! He has a very interesting chart. Mercury/Venus in 12th house Aries, opposite Moon/Neptune in Libra, a t-square to Mars/Saturn/IC in Cancer. Uranus is sextile the Venus/Merc, trine Moon/Neptune, and Pluto is sextile Moon/Neptune and trine Venus/Merc. Basically, you could fold his chart in half along the MC/IC axis and 8 of 10 planets would fall on each other. So his CHART is mirrored. I wonder if hemispheric emphasis in the chart has to do with right/left brain or handedness? I'm ambidextrous, and I have a splay chart. IP: Logged |

I am right handed, but lately I have been learning to use my left hand. I can write and draw almost as well with my left hand as with my right hand. ^.^ I notice that drawing with my left hand is almost easier than with my right hand. Maybe because the left hand uses the right side of the brain?IP: Logged | |
