I have my Moon and Venus in Cancer in my 7th house. I've never been attracted to a Cancer man.

I think my Leo Sun is a better indicator of what attracts me romantically--my long term relationships have been with Libras and Geminis, and I fell hard (mutually) for an Aries once.

As for qualities--I like a guy who is gorgeous, witty, open-hearted, open-minded, cool, fascinating, tall, charismatic, deep, and fun, with beautiful hands. Talent is important--all the guys I've really gone for have been super-talented.

Most important, though, is mutual chemistry--I'm open to falling for any type of guy--what's important is that there is something exciting, wonderful, and deep BETWEEN us.

Hmmmm....

If the Sun and Mars are masculine, proactive planets, and the Moon and Venus are attractive planets, the shouldn't Venus and Moon placements show the type of people/characteristics we attract to ourselves, and Mars and Sun placements show what we are attracted to and pursue?

some astrologers believe that Moon and Venus indicates the type of female that a male is attracted to and that Sun and Mars indicates the type of male that a female is attracted to.

like the anima and animus

I've read this, but I just don't see a Moon person pursuing a Mars or Sun person...but who knows.

im aware of that too Glaucus, i think it might have some credence, but i don't think its written like a rule.

i think its just part of what men and women look for in each other, but not exclusively.

its hard for me to say what i look for because my moon and venus oppose eachother, but i definitely side with my venus. a libran type, but i also like virgo influences there, and the only virgo i have in my chart are mercury/mars/juno. i also like some aquarian influences, my dsc is in aqua. my moon in aries does hold credence, i do not like 'push overs' so to speak. i like a girl who can be mainly libran, bit of virgo, and also a bit of gemini, my venus is in the 3rd, which definitely backs up my liking for gemini influences. the push overs thing is from my moon in aries probably, i like this same woman to also be strong inside, and can get 'firey'/angry or have a little temper, i like that, i find it cute at times :P.. i prefer that reaction to getting upset rather than sobbing and being an emotional wreck. (i lack water in my chart)

my moon in aries is also in the 9th, so a little sag influence is nice too.. damn i like to many flavors,

but yeh i'll leave it at that, libra is the main influence i like.

Yeah...that's why I said some astrologers. not all astrologers nor most astrologers

I am heavily attracted to my Venus sign. Actually without my Venus being touched I will not be attracted, no matter how many great synastric conjunctiont here will be including Sun-Moon or even ASC-DSC.

And Venus is rather problematic: in Capricorn (the only earth sign, while my other signs are mostly in SAg and Aqua with a bit of Neptunian / Pisces influence) and squaring Pluto.
Venus also rules my 5th house, so maybe that is one of the reasons.

Oh and Sun-Moon-mp, Antivertex are in Cappy opposing Eros in Cancer.

I am actually not attracted to my Sun and Mars sign (SAgittarius) even though my 7th house ruler also falls into Sag conjunct Sun.
I will experience familiarity, yes, but not attraction.
The Venus in SAg-placement may be an exception, I actually experienced attraction to Venus in Sag men (maybe because my Mars is in SAg, too).

Another "attraction"-axis for me is:
ARies and Libra, which is my IC-MC axis, and highlighted in the Draco charts, and the asteroids UNION, ADONIS, APOLLO and APHRODITE and SAPPHO all fall into Libra. Might add to it.

when it comes to what i'm attracted to, i am clueless...

Sagittarius Venus
Aries Moon

i've neither had Sagi or Aries boyfriend/lover. and as long as i know none of the people who i had stuff with weren't any of these either. but i don't ask their signs every time i have a one-night stand

as long as i can recall i've had Aquarius, Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces, Virgo lovers/BFs, the other short-lived ones i don't remember their birthdays... with the water signs they were all pain in the butt...

but in general i seem to like weird people. people with strange fetish or neurosis, a bit disturbed or socially dysfunctional. it may be my Neptune at ASC and Uranus in the 11th though.

Moon Scorpio
Venus Cancer

I feel attracted to purity, innocence like a baby that isn't infect with cultural verneer.
So, as we are ALL infected there has to be those (slumbering) qualities that makes a human human.
A kind of idealistic & sensitive mind.

It isn't strange that I always romantically got involved with Scorpio's (-nature),
most had far more planets than only the Sun in it.
I also blame Pluto exactly on my S/M in sextile to Venus.

Aqua-mars could be the idealistic part that I love. But without the deep/sensitive scorp-nature I don't see my way romantically to it.

Never got romantically involved with Cancer (platonic: Yes!) but I do not exclude that - unlike most other signs - one day that will happen (Moon/Mars square).

My Moon is in Libra and Venus is in Leo

I am not really attracted to Libras, especially the "textbook description" - easy going, charming, flirty - doesn't really work for me probably because I have enough of that myself. Plus with charm, too much can become smarmy and I am not into b.s. I can see the Venus, only because it is in the same sign as my Sun. I actually do think that the Sun and Mars accurately describe what I am attracted to as a woman. I can most definitely see my Mars in Gemini at play. Mars is also in my 5th and my Sun in Leo so Leo gets a boost there. So anyway, what I like:

Super smart is the most important thing - I mean brilliant bordering on genius but not walking around with a 3 pc. suit and pipe acting like a hoity-toity intellectual, real geniuses aren't like that anyway. There are different types of genius – creative genius, intellectual genius – you get my drift…

Well educated (I am a college snob), great sense of humor and irony, creative, confident and passionate about his work, talkative, slightly imperfect, fun, adventurous and a little bit of an edge - just meaning not what you'd expect by looking at him...

I’m usually the hot girl with the “nerd”.

I don't know, I see a little bit of my chart all over what I find attractive, probably because I have lots of fire and air - even in my asteroids.

ETA: Physically – tall, green or hazel eyes and nice lips, scruffy beard…

I have a penchant for green eyes, most of the guys I have dated and the men that I have had LTR with have had green or green-hazel eyes. I Googled “green eyes astrology” to see if there was any link and I came across this in an article:

“…Men and women of genius often possess this coloured eye. You'll need to sharpen your intellectual skills with green eyed people…”

Interesting…

I have Moon/Venus/Mercury (chart ruler)/BML conjunction in Aries (8th house). I don't really feel attracted to the typical Aries guys (I like people who are direct and courageous/positive, but not too self-centered, aggressive or lack of a mind).. Although guys with Aries Moon and/or Venus are nice thought. With the guys I know who has Aries Moon, there's a kind of affinity, and then having the same Venus makes our tastes kinda alike too. X3

Yet I think that I'm more attracted to Pisces, Scorpio and Libra types. I have Pisces DC, and I kinda attract Pisces Mooners. Scorpio, maybe coz of my 8th house stellium? And Libra, maybe coz it's the opposite of my Aries stellium, and besides, I have Juno and Angel there.
Also, my Mars is in Taurus, and I find guys who are simple yet masculine attractive~~

Moon in Scorpio
Venus in Libra

Strong intense personality, hard to get I can't stand easy types, smart, classy, funny, independent, I am not into submissive types, slender, tanned, long dark hair, argumentative, confrontational, a bit jealous, a bit possessive, not into clingy types, a drama queen with an attitude

Preferably a Taurus or a Scorp female.

I think the aspects to Moon,Venus,Sun,and Mars are also factors.

aspects to planets,major asteroids,and centaurs,transneptunians could play a part
so the anima and animus more complexed

they could include not only celestial ecliptic longitude, but also celestial equatorial latitude (declination)and celestial equatorial longitude (right ascension)

I will start a thread.

For a female I feel it's her sun and mars that are the best indicators. For me sun in libra conj pluto and mars in sag conj uranus-I always go for the tall, dark, handsome mysterious types, scorpio suns usually, but a lot of scorp moons too. I also like big(sag) men who have a different(uranus) look to them, no suit and tie men for me, I like the real bad boys with lots of tattoos and a dangerous look.

Moon in Sagittarius, 3rd
Venus Taurus, 9th

I do like very much foreigners, and intellectuals. Be smarter than me, and able to answer my many questions.

Inside of that, I'm drawn magnetically to the Virgo archetype - structured, subtle, in need of fixing. In contrast, I tend to attract the Mars archetype; Aries and Scorpio, especially Scorpio, with a lot of moon in Aries.
