just wanted to ask what in a person's chart may cause them to be protective of people. and what in a chart may cause someone to always have someone protect them?

i've been bugged about this lately only because my friend (libra) has come back and he's back to looking out for me. today we were walking and this guy on a bicycle seemed as if he could've biked in our path, but he was just slowing to a stop. my friend put out his arm to stop me from walking forward. he always does this.

people in my life seem to always do this to me. whether it's throwing their body over mine or telling me i shouldn't do this or do that because it's dark out or i would be upset by it...doesn't matter if they're younger than me or older than me, male or female, dad, friend, stranger, people think i need protection.

this is ironic because i am actually very physically strong and i'm those types who can fall down and get hit in the face with a ball and NOT cry. and i've fallen down many times and used to play sports and get smashed in the face by a puck and i never cried.

but i do get upset at seeing homeless people or nervous when there's loud noise and crowds or being in a place i'm not familiar with. people tend to describe me as somewhat naive as i'm from a small town and i don't do bad things and i have the likes of mandy moore (before she married ryan adams) on my ipod.

but it's not as if i can't actually protect myself. even if the dude on the bike collided into me, i'm not gonna cry or get crushed by it. i've crashed my bike and fallen off my bike so many times as a kid and i never cried or broke anything.

i'm a cancer with gemini moon but my mars is in taurus.

A few years ago these bikie gangs came down and they tried to stab my uncle and i jumped in front of him while my whole family was screaming and crying 30 metres down the road watching, I would kill for my family and i might hurt someone for my friends because i have been friends with everyone i know since primary school days and i have some of the best friends out there who have helped me my whole life.

I have mars on my MC in cancer.

I am very protective of my cat too probably more than anyone else. I hope im more relaxed when i have babies.. lol

i am extremely protective of my loved ones, and always kinda take up for any kid or anyone that needs me to put on my supercape and make the monster go away.

i can be pretty fierce if the situation calls for it.

i would fight to the death for one of my kids.

moon conjunct venus opposed neptune really stands out regarding your situation.

people see them as passive (not relating to your astro combo just about the topic in general) and not very assertive in their expression so tend to flock to them if in a mothering/fathering mode, distilling their *wisdom* in hopes of buoying their own self made assertions that their way is proper and should be adhered to. and less cynically i suppose for that moment in time they do care about you

it's more about them than it is about you though. unless they're being overtly controlling/manipulative.

the point you made about "indicate[s] vulnerability/openness to deceit" stood out for me. that's how i am perceived by a lot of people. i try to protect myself with my academic side and physical strength, but it doesn't seem to protect me or buffer me.

in numerology, my life path number is a 1 and the stuff it says about struggling to be independent is true. i have what it takes to care for myself, but i seem to have strings attached to people like a puppet.

as well, it's true that a lot of people i've come into contact with want to take over me and force me to be just like them or follow their lead because their way is the best way for me not to make a misstep. it's taken a long time for me to trust my own instincts and do what i know is best for me. i struggle to not listen to what others have to say and to take their advice. or if their advice differs from what i think, that begins the downhill slide of confidence i have in myself.

with school and work, teachers and managers always want to mold me to become what they want me to become...and i become it. it's scary how your description here fits me so well. so having moon conjunct venus opposite neptune is a bad thing i gather.

it'd be cool if others who are the opposite of me could post their charts and/or explain their aspects that make them naturally protective of others.

but, and i look at this in natals and in synastry, when there is a planet making a positive aspect to a potentially restrictive combination, that can be your "out," or the release from the tension that can be achieved that doesn't have to consciously be worked with, all you have to do is put mental focus on that side of yourself. not all natal charts have an "out" for these combinations, so i like to see in synastry these same combinations finding some peace with another's chart, say if that focal planet involved is turned into a grand trine through the other's chart, really, it does feel like you can be really seen and can just -breathe-.

but i'm sidestepping. in your chart you can see that jupiter in leo in h12 is providing you with a release point. it's sextile venus and trine to neptune. focusing on that combination and what those aspects mean, take some time to really incorporate those into your mode of operation. just absorbing more of what they mean for you will really release some of that tension.
