Chaos isn't an asteroid.
it's a transneptunianasteroids have orbits shorter than Jupiter
transneptunians have orbits longer than Neptune. Many of them are even longer than Pluto. In Chaos' case, its orbit is longer than Pluto's.
I feel that if you call a transneptunian, "asteroid", you miss out on its significance as an outerplanet-like object whose effects can be just as profound as outerplanets and even more profound like in the case of transneptunian, Pluto.
19521 Chaos is a cubewano, a Kuiper belt object not in resonance with any planet. Chaos was discovered in 1998 by the Deep Ecliptic Survey, with Kitt Peak's 4 m telescope. It is large at about 560 km, and bright at H=4.755. It is named after the primeval state of existence in Greek mythology, from which the first gods appeared. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/19521_Chaos
the following is from Philip Sedgwick's site:
Chaos: Before all that is, creator of Gaia and Ouranous (Uranus). Orbital Period: 312.18
Positive - orderly in the face of confusion, goes with the flow, mellow and non-stressed
Negative - worked up, paranoid, projecting fears, assuming disaster is a step away
Mundane - fractal patterns and analysis, big bang theory, chaos theory,
Ceremonial - meditating upon de-materialization, cleansing and re-materializing, dismemberment (shamanic reconstruction)

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.
In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.
“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”
